St. Mary's University is a Catholic post-secondary, student-focused liberal arts and sciences teaching and research institution open to all. Through the synthesis of faith and reason, St. Mary's invites and challenges all individuals of the community to become compassionate, thoughtful and resourceful members of society. St. Mary's is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on a historic 35-acre campus overlooking Fish Creek Provincial Park. Established in 1986, St. Mary's University offers three-year Bachelor of Arts degrees with concentrations in English, History, Psychology and General Studies, and four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees with majors in English and Psychology. The institution also offers Canada's only two-year Bachelor of Education after degree that prepares teachers to teach in Catholic schools. A wide variety of university courses in 34 academic disciplines allow students to transfer credits to other Alberta and Canadian university programs, particularly in the biological sciences and business.
