Jesus has already come for the world and for us, but only if we make the decision to receive the gift we are being offered. That means, in our time and place, there is a manifestation of the coming of Christ into the world which has not happened yet, because it depends on us, and cannot occur without our assent, our agreement, our willingness to cooperate with righteousness. That is our YES.

Lots of talent at this year's Christmas Pageant! Thank you to the children, actors and choir, and to all the volunteers who made this happen! Oh yes, and a special thank you to St. Nicholas for making a guest appearance!

Happy 82nd Birthday Pope Francis!

As we move closer to the great celebration of Christmas, when we rejoice that Jesus is with us, how are you relating at the Banquet Table of God’s love? Are you living your life as an icon of gentleness as you grow in generosity, honesty and justice? Where would you like to grow in becoming ever more a gentle man or gentle woman?

This afternoon at 2pm come out for our annual Christmas Pageant featuring children from St. Peter's along with the Children's Choir. A special visitor will also be making a guest appearance and there will be treats for the kids!

It is time for us to restart our relationship with God. The same invitation comes to us in all times and in all places, but today is the exact moment for us to answer John’s invitation to repent, to turn around, to turn to God, and to our brothers and sisters in need.

Thank you to the many volunteers who came out this weekend in support of those in need in our community! It all began Friday night with The Forge making sandwiches for Calgary's Drop-In Center. Saturday, dozens of families came out to deliver food and gift hampers to nearly 300 people living in our NW area. To those of you who so generously gave to St. Vincent de Paul both in gift cards and contributing to the 621 angels on our Angel Trees, your kindness will mean so much to so many this Christmas. Thank you!

This is the final weekend of our Stewardship Drive. After all Masses you will find our Worship Ministries in the Narthex - Adoration, Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors/Readers, Music Ministry, Sacristans & Audio/Visual. Have a chat with some of our ministry leaders and find out if there's a way you can help serve St. Peter's Parish!

In his life and writings, John of the Cross has a crucial word for us today. We tend to be rich, soft, and comfortable. We shrink even from words like self-denial, mortification, purification, asceticism, discipline. We run from the cross. John’s message—like the gospel—is loud and clear: Don’t—if you really want to live!

It is a great place to nurture our faith. The parish provides a vast teaching and learning through various activities for all parishioners and to anyone who are interested to attend and join.

I was there in my last visit to Calgary. I had never been to a church in Canada before, and it was a fantastic experience. I went to two masses during the Advent and they were really great.



Congratulations to all the community.



I will certainly be there when visiting Calgary again.

Great Marriage Conference this weekend, Dr. Edward Sri is a very engaging speaker and presented so many good ideas. The Wine and Cheese reception afterwards was so much fun. The food was delicious and it was such a good time. Thanks to Bishop McGrattan, Father Jerome and Father Jonathan and all those volunteers who made it so memorable.
