Stanley Park

I parked at the top of the hill above "Lindsays Folly" (outside the Southern Albera Pioneers Bldg.) and went for a long walk to Stanley Park... In the two decades that I hadn't been there, the city has installed a really nice pathway from the river up to the top of the bluff... Much better than the old set of stairs which were there the last time I was there...

Beautiful river-side park with plenty of tables and grills for summer picnics. Newly renovated baseball diamond, outdoor pool and beautiful gardens. Great place to spend an afternoon!

This is a great park in Calgary. Enjoy time by the river and don't forget to pack a lovely picnic under the shade of the mature trees.
There is lots to do here.
Go for walks, swim or even have a BBQ at one of the grill stations.
Being so central is so convenient too.

I love the water access here. Bathrooms are available. The park gets super packed with people on a hot day in summer. There are tons of rafters on the river too. One can usually find a spot to park in the neighbourhood if the parking lot is full.

A great area for taking the family in the summer. A good spot to get off the Elbow if you want a short and easy float from Sandy Beach. Water is a good depth for swimming and they have tons of picnic tables and grill areas. Make sure to book an area online if you have a larger group going though.

The park is pretty but there seems to be major construction work every summer. For the last 2 years I have seen major areas blocked off due to this.

So lovely. The yoga classes on Sundays makes a great closing for the week.

Such a lovely Park to take a walk in. Go for a swim in the river. Nice picnic areas with small wood fire bbqs and picnic tables. All around amazing scenery and beautiful flowers everywhere.

Awesome little park by the river. Easy access for paddle boarding.
