I went in to the 118 Ave. store today to get a couple rolls for Thanksgiving this weekend, and asked if they make non-ham garlic sausage. Truth be known, most to the Ukrainian garlic sausage is made with un-cured pork. I am a Ukrainian and also a sausage maker. Ham-garlic sausage is made with cured pork ie: ham. As I paid for my 2 rolls, the woman at the counter looked at me like I was an idiot and on my way out, I heard the hired help even mocking me. PLEASE NOTE!: I will never cross your threshold again. I typically buy several times a year. If there was a minus 5 stars, I would post that. Please go to Marchyshyns Sausage.....way better, but more expensive 11004 - 96 St.

Just chipped another tooth. I've been exposed to Stawnichy's sausage my whole life as I grew up near Mundare and then spread the love to my own family. Think I have chipped around 3-4 teeth over the years due to bone piecies in their meat. Hopefully I learned my lesson this time and stay away.

The family loves to stop in as we drive through Mundare. We pick up some meat and visit other establishments in town to build our own little picnic.

Been buying garlic sausage in bulk for years in the Edmonton store going back to when the location was south of the present location and never had a complaint in fact the sausage was very good. I purchased a 25 pound box yesterday and the sausage is barely edible as it is laced with smoke.
I hope they do something and correct the problem. I can only give one star for this batch.

For years now, my boyfriend and I have been purchasing Stawnichy's original sausage rings as they have been a favourite in the family. Not only for the great taste but for the fact that they were one of the few companies that made them milk free. Which was a Wonderful thing seeing as how my boyfriend has had a severe allergy to all milk products since he was young. However, in the past month I have noticed them saying "may contain milk" suddenly because I have always checked and I am wonder why would a company go and change their product that was already fantastic as it was. Is it a cheaper method? Are the sausages becoming more fillers than true meat? Or is it there's too many selling so you've changed your ways and decreased the value of the product but at least the production can be quicker and easier. Regardless of Stawnichy's reasonings, we are very disappointed in this change as your products are no longer of a value to us. I'm sorry to say that we will no longer be purchasing Stawnichy's products untill they get their homemade touch back to the meats we have all come to love over the past years. I love supporting local businesses, but not when they chose to compete like the big guys and change what made them "local".

I truly hope Stawnichy's can find their way back to
where they were with their great products, but as of now I literally cannot feed my family what you make.
