Sterilize It Description
Founded in 2014 by ex-Lieutenant Firefighter /Paramedic Bryan Burry, Sterilize It and its parent company Nano Defence Solutions Inc. , was created after observing gaps in disinfection procedures for emergency services and seniors’ facilities – deficiencies that have increased the risk of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in healthcare facilities. For their work towards improving disinfection standards, Sterilize It was recognized as a Top 10 Innovator in EMS across North America for 2015.
The emergence of Superbugs has made the role of infection control even more important. The globally connected world, outdated and ineffective cleaning and disinfection procedures, over-reliance on hand sanitizers and antibiotics, higher seniors’ populations, and harsh chemical usage have led us to a point where advanced, proactive surface and air hygiene is more essential than ever. Our goals are to:
-increase patient, public and worker safety
-reduce the rate of Healthcare-Associated -Infections in Healthcare facilities
-contribute to best practices for disinfection and air quality improvement
