Shot guns for the first time today and had an amazing experience!! I was absolutely terrified and my instructor helped me through it, gave me a new perspective on guns, and gave me the push to conquer this fear.

I had organized my brothers Stag over Easter Weekend with Straight Shooters. From the time I emailed them they were professional, prompt, and had answers to all of my questions. They had my group of 8 fully signed up and ready to go just in a few days (my issue not theirs) and when we arrived we were really impressed with just how friendly everyone was.

The facility was clean, organized and you can tell they do a great job making sure its an inviting place to come to. My group had a lot of first time shooters so for them to walk in and immediately feel comfortable was great! I would definitely recommend them and will most likely be back for another function down the road!

Went and checked out the new NE Calgary indoor range for a training session.

First impressions (from an IPSC/USPSA/practical shooting perspective): the venue is still a work in progress. It's only been open for a month. So, give them time to really get up to speed.

The good: nice and clean, modern, good sound attenuation even for a major PF open gun, very good ventilation (you can feel the breeze on the back of your neck) and excellent lighting throughout (especially at the firing point), rubber floor mats and tables that swing out of the way for unobstructed holster work.

The not so good: no coat racks or storage lockers (coming), no lead wipes or D-Lead soap in washrooms (coming), no broom for brass cleanup (coming).

It's going to be a great venue when fully up to speed.

The staff is patient, helpful and very encouraging. I’d love to go again!

Stopped in yesterday (Tuesday night) great deals on ammo, had a quick tour of the bays, its definitely a different level of AR/Pistol shooting with the sound dampening technology, ventilation and two shooter style bays the only negative is the short yardage in the bays. Staff member that helped me was awesome (didn't get his name).I will defiantly be back to give it a shot.

I live outside the city. Nice having a range that's closer to home. Wouldn't mind more inventory and rifle ammunition. Perhaps some optics as well. Will be back. Friendly staff as well
