Studio 604 Art Studio & Gallery Description
I have felt the pull to the incredible Canadian Rock Mountains since first visiting the area over 40 years ago. After working and living in many cities in Western Canada, I finally returned to the area in 2010. Painting primarily in acrylics, my artistic goal is to share the magnificence of the area as seen through my eyes. My hopes are that my art brings the viewer a sense of peace and appreciation for the beauty and serenity found here.
This intense need to create has also led me to explore the joys of jewelry designing and metalsmithing. Most of my necklaces and bracelets are one of a kind and are designed using gemstones, pearls, sterling silver, copper and gold.
Painting and designing jewelry most days, having my Studio open and being available to meet people and chat about art makes for a very fulfilling and wonderful life! Please don't hesitate to stop by if you are in the area - I would love to explain my process and show you through my working studio.

I love to paint early in the morning and my studio can often be found open with me at the easel at 7:00 a.m., sometimes earlier. So, if you're out walking the dog, pop in - I have liver treats!! In the meantime, here is a look at a commission piece of jewelry that I finished this afternoon. The silver bead at the centre of the design is a magnetic clasp so, when the bracelet is not being worn as a bracelet, it can be connected to the necklace to give it a longer and different look! How fun!
I think Abby likes the way her new Pat Sullivan paintings are reflected in the mirror. Maybe she is trying to figure out how to climb the trees:). Silly kitty 🐱
Just wondered how many people out there would be able to identify this mountain at this early stage of the painting. Hint...when I hear the name, it reminds me of a very famous, somewhat depressed, donkey who had two really great friends;) Care to take a guess?
Finished this triptych of 3 canvases measuring 24" x 60" each called 'Just Hangin’ with Family & Friends'.
This was a commission piece for a collector that has now become a very dear friend. I love the incredible people my passion brings into my life:)

Almost done this one and ready to start my next commission - a triptych of 3 panels 24"x60" each! Can't wait to begin! I won't be posting any progress photos of the commission as my client only wants to see it when it is done and hanging on her wall! I will post a photo after it is delivered. So fun!!

So the last time I attempted this triptych using 3 canvases, 12x36 each, I had planned on doing trees and ended up with flowers (shown below)! Today, I am going to try for trees again - fingers crossed! I will be at the easel today from 10-5 and tomorrow from 1-5 so pop into my Canmore studio and follow the journey:) www.studio604.ca
Back in beautiful BC for a 1 week intensive metal smithing course. Can’t wait to see what cool designs I can create after this! Fun, fun, fun! And the scenery is pretty good too:)
