-= THANK YOU KELOWNA =-
The Submission Ace Championship: Cameron Deleurme Memorial was a fantastic success!
Teams and competitors from all over BC and Alberta came out and put it all on the line to showcase their training and skills on the mat!!
... New Champions were made at every level!
We were so happy to see the support and excitement of the Kelowna community for our promotion and will definitely be coming back again in 2019!
Every Tournament is only as good as the people who make it happen, and the success of this one is greatly due to the willing and able people who gave their day to run it.
It's a credit to the Kelowna/Vernon area Jiu-jitsu scene that 8 out of the 9 Referees were from it! Thank you to Chris Nan, Al Blais, Clint Cooper, Mas Taki, Justin Aujla-Fieldt, Kyle Deleurme, Tyler Reed, Dave Rothwell - and a special thanks to Rebecca Hughes for coming out from Red Deer to Referee.
So many people came to help out with running the Mat Tables, Podium, Weigh In Station and more! Some came all the way from Vancouver, and many more were right from the Kelowna Senior Secondary school who's Gym we used! Thank you SO much to all of our workers!!
We'd also like to give a GIANT thank you to our Community Correspondent, Mike Griesbeck, for all the hard work and preparation that he put into this in the weeks leading up.
And a very special thank you goes out to the Deleurme family for allowing us to honor the memory of Cameron in a way that those who knew him felt was best.
We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2019!
The next Submission Ace Championship Tournament will the Winter Classic, set to be held in Blackfalds, Alberta on February 23rd.
See you there!

Tournament is very well run, always seems to be on time... hopefully we can get enough interest to bring back a no-gi tournament every once in a while too! Thanks to Drew and everyone else involved for putting these on!

User

This was the first time competing at Ace Submission Championship for myself and my kids. I was very impressed with the professionalism and organization. This was a pleasure to attend. Thanks Drew Weatherhead for putting Ace together.

User

Submission Ace! Best tournament in Alberta! Very well organized and executed all under the leadership of Drew Weatherhead!! Wish you were able to have more than two tourneys each year. Ethan LOVES competing and volunteering and I am always happy to volunteer as Well! Awesome event!!!

User

Round robin is the only way to go! Was a great turn out and all great people!

User

One of the best tournaments in Alberta. Trying to support it as much as I can.

User

One of the best tournament formats I have seeing. Beginners and Advanced athletes have the opportunity to compete in many fights. Tournaments like Drew runs make the level of BJJ in Alberta grow. Keep the good work! Osss

User

I have watched Drew and his crew develop this tournament right from the beginning! Improving each year. Each year finds its struggles as they strive to improve the experience not only for the athletes but for the spectators as well!

I will continue to attend what I consider the best run Jiujitsu tournament in Alberta.
