love this place. their coconut chicken is probably the best Indian food that I've had to date! atmosphere is great and the service is phenominal. even though its all the way accross the city for me, I DEFINITELY plan on coming back. a lot. haha

We had been to this restaurant before during our visit to calgary as we are from Edmonton and liked the food so much. So took our friends next time and again this restaurant didn't disappointed us. Our friends liked the food too. Everytime i visit the city I prefer to go to tamarind.

My boyfriend and I just had the most amazing experience here last night. Still relatively new to Calgary, I had not yet found an exceptional Indian restaurant after a lot of trial and error. Tamarind is a hidden little gem! The decor is chic, the service is attentive, witty, and thoughtful, and the food is absolutely delightful. We had the pakora trio to start, which was a great sample of 3 different types of pakoras (vegetable, spinach, and paneer). For our main course, we had chicken tikka massala and beef roganjosh. Both were flavourful and the meat was so tender - the chicken actually tasted like butter it was so delicious and moist. The basmati rice was perfectly cooked, and the garlic naan was incredibly fresh and soft. The service was absolutely exceptional - our server was so friendly and knowledgeable, and the maitre-d addressed us by name on our way out. The only thing the restaurant could improve on was the wine list - I hoped to see a fresh riesling or gewertz to compliment the spices. All in all, this is easily my new favourite restaurant and I plan to come back weekly! I recommend this to anyone who appreciates Indian food

Good beginning; now the food: so delicious, real Indian food and the spicyness level ok. However, I had to try it with plain yogurt, it is my best allied. . For sure the restaurant has been added to my favorite restaurants in Canada

I love Tamarind's butter chicken paired with naan and coconut rice. The naan is average and expensive. I only ever get delivery, which has never been a bad experience.

I always order takeout from here for my work! The butter chicken is always amazing, and tender. Everyone I work with loves the food from Tamarind. They are so accommodating and always have to food on time. Thank you for your amazing food and service!!!

Another delicious meal on Sunday night... especially love the samosas... but really have not had anything that wasn't good yet. :-)

While we've always enjoyed the food at Tamarind, this time we chose to order in. After receiving a confirmation email saying our order had been received and was underway, we waited 1.5 hours before calling. The restaurant said they had only received the order 45 minutes ago. We then received a call from the delivery driver saying he had been delayed by a mixup with a previous order and was coming in 10 minutes. Waiting 2 hours for dinner without any update from Tamarind was not a pleasant experience. Just food for thought if you're thinking about ordering in. 5 stars for delicious food.

EDIT: got a call from the manager. He was very apologetic and explained the mix up. It happens; nice to know they care though.

We received exceptional customer service from Flora. Decor is nice and comfortable. Food was tasty and Tamarind is one of the better places for East Indian cusine in Calgary. A must try!

Our hostess was awesome. She was very polite and friendly. We ordered the butter chicken (very sweet to my taste) and the shahi paneer had a little more spices for its delicate taste. The naan were very yummy. The coleslaw that came with our pudina paneer was delicious but the fish we ordered for appetizer was very oily.

Overall good experience... Best customer service!!
