My wife ordered the Tavern Burger without the bun. I ordered a poutine with pork belly. Our server was from Quebec City and said the Tavern did poutines right. And they do. Mine was excellent.
Good food reasonably priced and served by friendly folks.
This was a nice little Tavern in down town Canmore with great service and great food.
The Wild Bore Burger was dam great and one word is WOW what a great burger.
This place was recommended by a shop we picked up some last minute gear from. And they under sold how awesome it was.

Service.... Our man Luc was insanely knowledgeable and probably one of the best servers I've had in years. Bravo good sir.
The view.... Well it's in the middle of Canmore and you're surrounded by snow capped mountains so FREAKING EPIC.
This is our favorite place to stop for a beer and entrees coming home to Airdrie after a trip to BC or hicking in the Rockies ! Love their selection of beer and the food is very good. The patio is in on a quiet small street with a relaxing park accross the street and the sun is there to warm our smiles. And of course staff is awesome ! Had a great time with Restaurant Manager ;)
The place was very busy but that did not affect the service. I had some of the best fish and chips ever. I will tell all my friends that Tavern 1883 is a place to experience!
The food was incredible!! I had the chicken sandwich with duck bacon and it was DELISH, having never eaten duck before!! The service was top notch as well!
A definite recommend!
The dishes were amazing, I was stunned how clean they were, I mean the plates sparkled. You really got a sense of how much work went in to the cleaning of our dinning ware. It almost distracted from our meals, which were amazing, I guess, but the way those bowls shone making my salad come to life, really just life altering.
The bartenders here are really good at pouring drinks and the servers, not only do they remember your order they also serve your meals by carrying the plates with their own hands all the way from the kitchen !
I'd also like to make a special mention to the dishes, they're like... really clean.
Nice & cozy, a perfect aprez ski or a late lunch. Lovely staff & food to die for - everything is so flavorful - my new fav of Canmore!

Went last night-boxing day. Poutine was one of the best I've had in AB, (I'm from QuƩbec ;) ) and the duck bacon on the burger-OMG!!! This place has a great mountain vibe and the staff were all there to make you feel welcome! Will take friends there in the future-definitely recommend.
Reggie was a fantastic server with a great sense of humour. The food was delicious and it was a comfortable environment.

People it's a pub.... please don't look for the Ritz and you won't be disappointed in fact you might be pleasantly surprised, we where. When packed service can suffer a little but with great music and view of the mountains just relax and enjoy your down time. Cathi was our server and she was fabulous, fast and did everything right to make our trip here wonderful. If you enjoy a nice coffee with your meal for sure ask for Cathi. Oh and make sure to try the fried Brussels

The service I had tonight was terrible, I had to ask to be served and my waiter was not attentive in any way! We ordered a pint of cider and it came out in a tiny glass that was not a pint! I felt ripped off massively! The food was very good and came out quickly so that was a positive at least.
Food isn't bad. Bar type food. Waitress was pleasant but If you aren't drinking continuously, expect to be asked to give up your table for customers who will I guess spend more. I would have enjoyed staying to watch the band tonight however I guess we got there to early and had our meal and drinks too early because we were told if we didn't order more we would have to give up our table (the waitress advised us on direction of the manager) I probably would have had a drink or two more throughout the evening but to be told I had to did not sit with me well so we left. Not impressed. This place is advertised as a bar...not just a restaurant. Thought that meant you could sit and have some food and a drink, and watch a game on the tv without being rushed out!
