Great Northern Vineyards is located on the bench above the Similkameen River in Cawston, B.C. Earth Day is just around the corner, join us in The Bison Courtyard on April 22nd!

Wow. In Banff you can have a five star meal, with equally enjoyable service. The first part requires a creative, well-designed menu. The second might require luck. I had the same server both nights, so I can't judge the staff in general, but my server was great. The meals displayed a creative use of locally sourced ingredients. It was a treat.

Wonderful experience all around. The food was amazing! Ryan was our server and he was fantastic. We had never been here before and everything was explained to us from the time of seating to the time the food arrived. We don’t treat ourselves to a meal like this often, but I’m so happy we choose the Bison for a special night out.

Went for our 3 years and just amazing, worth the every cent. The cheesecake recommended by our server was a great sharer!

We got engaged yesterday and came for dinner. They couldn't have made our evening any better. To say the food was amazing is an understatement, brilliant waitress and on the house wine! Thank you for having us!

To finish off our long weekend trip my boyfriend and I went to Bison for dinner and exactly as our waiter Joel said - we were in for a treat! :) Service was lovely, Caesars were really really good (my boyfriend actually said that it was arguably the best one he's had yet) and the food... Oh my God the food!! I ordered the tenderloin and he ordered the bison and both of them were just spectacular meals. Highly recommended and I'm already planning when we can go back! :)

This place is great. Our waiter Blake, as well as all the other staff, were great. We asked him a lot of questions and he was so nice and explained a lot about how the dishes are prepared and about the flavors etc etc. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend you make a reservation and dine here.

The food was excellent. I had the venison and it was cooked perfectly. Tommy, our server, was the best. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu as we have both sesame and gluten allergies. I highly recommend. Thanks for a fabulous evening.

The eggs Benny are the best in town. I've eaten every breakfast option and this is hands my new fave. Tea biscuit instead of English muffin benny is the game changer. Fresh ingredients. Foodies enjoy!!

The entire staff was very friendly and attentive, especially our Australian waiter (who isn't from Australia in Banff?), who was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful in explaining how each dish was prepared, making recommendations for wine pairings, and most of all, involving my daughter in the conversation.



For appetizers, my daughter enjoyed the Braised Pork Arancini, and I had the Escargot in a Bone which was amazing...I'm a big fan of Escargot and I've never had it prepared so uniquely. For our mains, my daughter had the Bison Short Ribs which were fantastic, and I ordered two more appetizers with the Gnocchi Poutine with 24 hour braised Elk (I was in the mood to explore something new, and was rewarded), and the Scallops with crispy spatzle. All of the dishes were full of flavor and hearty for such a cold evening. I would highly recommend The Bison Restaurant and plan to return the next time we visit Banff.

Amazing food served at the right temperature. Sunny evening, the view of mountains with tender bison chops!! One suggestion, restaurant that yields experience and ambience must serve Bread while folks waiting for the food!!

Amazing experience! Our server Tommy was outstanding- so passionate and knowledgeable about the menu/ food sourcing, and also just great to chat with. The food was outstanding! And thanks to Tommy’s recommendation we have a new scotch to enjoy at home!

There was a piece of baking paper in our potatoes salad. The manager been cheap and only offer half price of for one plate. After negotiated with him, he decided to take the price of the plate off. Still, I was not expecting this kind of carelessness from a high end restaurant.

The current manager is the worst!! She asked a group of 25 people to be stopped serving alcohol for unknown reasons . We were here to celebrate a friend birthday. We didn’t enjoy the dinner because of the manager’s attitude. That is certainly not a good way to conduct business. We will never come back here!
