The Camera Store

Went there years ago and never rated this place. Bought a camera elsewhere but needed a memory card. Was greeted by some woman who asked where I got it from. After answering, she declared that was stupid.

Was caught off guard.

Terrible service there. Not sure if she even works there as this was years ago but meant to leave a bad rating to this place. Hire non arrogant people.

Go elsewhere unless you're the arrogant artsy type they clearly want there.

Love this place! Brought my 2 film cameras in I got from my mom that havent been used in a good 35 years and one of the sales associates gladly explained to me my camera and how it functions. Even recommended the cheap film to start off instead of trying to sell me more expensive.. friendly honest and knowledgeable people work here and I always feel welcome in that place even when I know nothing compared to anyone in there.

Friendly, helpful staff. Prices are quite reasonable for a camera store. Item I wanted had the same regular price as on Amazon. Staff took the time to show me several options, explained the benefits and differences very well. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome camera store. So much gear. If you love photography, you can spend a day there. Helpful and knowledgable staff. If you get a new sales person, you can always switch it up for someone who knows more about your topic or camera needs. They sell also used gear and have camera service.

What a great store. Some camera shops are mostly willing to help you out only if you have a “worthy” camera. This place is totally unpretentious and always helpful.

I’ve bought cameras and lenses here and also taken advantage of their great selection of rentals bodies and lenses, and I’ve never had anything other than a fantastic experience.

The staff is friendly, and knowledgeable. Wide selection of products, including all major brands of cameras. The store also holds regular seminars on a wide variety of photo related topics as well as hosting camera demonstration events and other promotions. Alongside there store based operations, they also host a YouTube channel doing reviews on all the latest gear, and have been hosting a local meetup of photographers at local bars, designed as a way to share the love of photography with like minded individuals.

I can't possibly say enough good things about the camera store, however, I would like to focus on the staff in this review, and Kenneth in particular. Over the years he's always been very enthusiastic about helping me reach my photography goals, with a wealth of knowledge of all varieties of photography. I like to think of him as a dear friend, and am under the impression that he leaves all customers feeling that way with a wry sense of humour, always ready to share a good laugh. Keep an eye out for Kenneth next time you're in the store, and Kenneth, keep doing what you're doing, you are literally the best.

I just left the store and am extremely disappointed with the service I received. There was a very friendly woman there to greet me, I explained what I needed, she was very
helpful and asked K. to help me. K. was not helpful. He was rude. He basically rolled his eyes when I didn't have all the info for my camera. I said I had a picture of it. He said he didn't have what I need, a cable to connect camera to laptop, but that I could find one at London Drugs. I told him I had checked there already and they didn't have the right size. He said well we do have this one... And pulled one from the shelf... Ok... Then I asked about software I might need and he was so rude, explained in newer cameras it wasn't a problem because they were plug and play, he knew I had an older camera, we had covered that already. So I said well this wouldn't be considered newer would it. He said no. Very rudely told me the software came in the box with the camera. I said "you're a really tough guy to work with". Everything he had said to be from hello had been said rudely with a clear vibe of 'I'm going to make this difficult' . He said, what because you don't like the information I'm giving you? That we don't have what you need? I said no not at all, I'm ok with that information. It's how you are giving me the information, your tone, your manner, you are kind of a dick. Until then I had kept a pleasant attitude but decided this guy needs to be called out on his customer service skills. Even saying that I relayed it as information, not an attack, not in anger, just factually. I left without the cord I went in for. The other staff in the store looked friendly and helpful, if you get served by K. good luck with that. I have never written a negative review online for any business ever, this experience was so negative I felt it deserved mention.

These guys are awesome. Will take the time to connect and build a relationship and will match pricing. It's their service and obviouse love of photography and video that makes them the store for me.
