We had heard really good things, about the Fine Diner, so we decided to check it out. The food, and service, more than met our expectations. I had the Moroccan Lamb Burger and my wife had the Waygu Bacon Burger. Both were amazing. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.

User

This is the cutest place ever! Their food was excellent...even the fruit tasted better than normal fruit. And the pecan tart with marscapone for dessert...OM NOM NOM!

10/10 would definitely return

User

The best Eggs Benedict I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Fast service - delicious flavours - 'healthy' portion sizes, all in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

User

The Fine Diner catered an event I attended this past weekend. The food was exceptional, like "WOW have you tried this one"?? Kind of exceptional. The staff at fine diner were so pleasant and let us know what each dish was. Amazing service. Thank you!

User

My aunt introduced us to the Fine Diner and in the 6 or 7 times we've been back.... we've always been impressed.... from service to food quality and foundational ethics..... A local company we are proud to support

User

Love the food and the staff are so friendly and funny! They quickly came by our table and offered us some fresh hot "jittery juice"! (aka "coffee")

Food is so good, especially the candied bacon, and the portion sizes will ensure you don't leave hungry.

User

It's worth a trip just to try the bacon! Everything (banana French toast) and bacon and eggs were fabulous.

Add in meal share, nearly waste free system, locally sourced food and having the tip/tax included in the price and it's hard to beat.

User

I've been meaning to check out the Fine Diner ever since I heard it was under new management. Finally got out for a meal, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food and service was excellent. I am admittedly a carnivore, but I have to say I did not realize that vegetables could taste so good. More brussel sprouts please!

User

I highly recommend this diner. The food is incredible. A great atmosphere where you can visit and relax. Absolutely amazing

User

I am back on the love list with this place since it took new ownership. Great food, and I am in LOVE with their non-profit program. I hope more businesses take note of what these guys are doing!

User

Excellent, unique food. All at once a regular style diner and a new food experience. I love how they pay their staff....don't judge their prices until you learn more about this.

User

Cute little Diner with amazing food! I'll definitely be a returning customer!

A few weeks ago I was at Knifeware down the road and an employee came in with some of The Fine Diner's house cured bacon. It looked and smelled so amazing he couldn't help but offer me a peace. Omg, it was the best bacon I've ever had, so the next time I was in Inglewood I knew I had to check out a The Fine Diner. I popped in for a late breakfast today and couldn't believe they had a Duck Breast Eggs Benedict on the menu, so I just had to try it. It did not disappoint, the eggs and the duck were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were delicious and the fruit was fresh and tasty, and I never usually eat the fruit accompaniment as it's usually pretty nasty. I ordered two sides of the bacon to take home but can't wait to come back and try more of the scrumptious food here.

User

We have been there 2 times this month for dinner. So far have tried Chicken Putanesca, Lamb Burger with bacon and egg, Shephards pie, regular Burger, Truffle &Asiago Fries, deep fried Mac And Cheese, side salad and caesar salad and all are very good dishes. Creme Brulee was disappointing. Not smooth enough and the sugar on top was not properly carmelized.

What I really find great is the quality for the price you pay!

Service has been fine. Friendly waiter the first time and friendly waitress the 2nd time.

The first time there was a hostess too but other than seat people she didn't seem to help out the waiter. The poor guy had a full house. Not kosher!

We will go back!

User

Mmmm! Fluffy blueberry pancakes and a rich and tasty Croque Madame, we stuffed ourselves and emptied our plates, good coffee too. We appreciate that they strive to be as close to 0% waste as they can and the location is great for walking off that breakfast.

User

We haven't been to the Fine Diner in a few months and weren't aware of the new management. The menu is much the same as before with some tweeks. The eggs Benny is now on a croissant but I preferred the old bread. The bacon size was larger than before. Good food but an 18% gratuity is built into your bill and the service is slow. My husband ate his entire breakfast before getting a coffee refill (which he asked for and was forgotten about).

User

Just ok frankly. Cool beans (and not in a good way) and very poor service made for just an ok experience. Would have told our server but she never came back with the hot sauce nor to check in with us. Not sure I'd recommend, Rob sure won't.

Had never been to the bistro before but had heard great things. My wife and I went just before noon so we could beat the rush. I had the wagu steak sandwich and my wife had the burger. My wife loved her burger. My steak sandwich on the other hand was terrible. Wagu? I've had a more tender $5 bar steak. Flavor was spot on but the cook was awful. Ordered it mid rare. First bite was medium and the last bite was blue rare. Don't know how that's done on an even cut? Kettle chips were great. Tried my wife's fries. Top notch. Service was meh but you can attribute that to the built in gratuity. This model has failed time and time again. You give the wait staff no insentive to go above and beyond as they know they are getting their flat wage. I would go back and give them another try cause there are a couple things that interest me on the menu. From other reviews I've read it seems that there is new management and if they want the restaurant to do as well as their predecessor then they need to tweak some things. I love the fact that they are part of the Meal Share program so even though I wasn't happy with my steak someone who is going through tough times will get a meal. Great program. More restaurants need to jump on board. Cheers

User

Don't get the Croque Madame. Two thick and very soft pieces of French toast with only a spoonful of bacon bits and cheese squeezed in the centre. Basically eating two pieces of lightly fried bread with a poached egg on top.

Brigg's Kitchen has the real thing!

Other items looked great however.

User

The service was dismal. Food was sloppy. Potatoes were served as "roasted vegetables". Really disappointing. Ate there today for lunch. No manager available to discuss the issues, so hard to give a place a second chance when they don't want to staff up to handle service issues. The server was confrontational, defensive and sarcastic. "Potatoes are technically vegetables". No apology, nothing. It was a terrible experience.

User

I was excited by the menu choices. But when my Surf and Turf Mac and Cheese was served, it had less cheese than KD. And somehow the shells (not macaroni) were a bit undercooked. They use a mini cast iron pot to present the dish/brown the what little cheese there was, yet somehow the cheese was not brown, and the shells were barely luke warm. The surf (prawns) where a bit mushy too. Pretty disappointed.

User

Very poor overpriced food. Never coming back. Sad to see what used to be a great restaurant slide to this level.

User

Tip is already included in the prices and the service is very slow. Took 15-20 minutes just to get the bill. The portions were stupid small for the price. It was good before, but not so much anymore. Will never come again.

User

So my bestie and I went out for lunch at The Fine Diner in Inglewood. So disappointed!

Back story for this horrible place:

The first time I went there a few months ago, I had a 20 minute, in depth conversation with the waitress about Celiac and I asked about a million questions, she assured me that I was safe. Being the only customers in the restaurant and both eating gf I felt pretty safe. When my food came I confirmed that it was gluten free with the waitress and dug in. 15 minutes later, when most of my sandwich was gone, she comes out, white as a sheet, asked me how bad my allergy is and do I have my insulin pen because they oopsed and gave me regular bread?!?! Like what the fuck?!? She gave me a $50 gift card as I ran out the door so I could go die at home.

Fast forward a couple months.... I go to use this gift card with my friend and suprise, suprise we are the only people in the restaurant and it's the same waitress from the last time! She recognized me, could barely talk to me, couldn't be friendly or answer to my questions. We ordered the chicken sandwiches and when they came we had the most retarded looking sandwiches, with 2 different types of bread *see pic* and the toppings were pathetic. We watch the food get made through the big pass through and their *not gf fries* ended up all over my plate/sandwich and they just picked them off. We left.

The 'cooks' look and act like kids that should be in school not in a kitchen feeding people with major dietary concerns. Screw them and their gift cards! Train your staff or just don't bother with trying to be gluten free cuz your failing!

Don't waste your time or money and don't risk your health!

NOT A FINE DINER AT ALL

I had brunch there today with a friend and had the WORSE service ever. From the get-go the waitress rushed us and was unfriendly and unwelcoming. After our meal we asked for more coffee, the waitress told us that we should leave soon because they had people waiting for a table. She was very rude in her tone.

I understand their interest in quick turnover but I've NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant right after finishing our meal. It felt like a truck stop more than a FINE diner! We left our money on the table and continued to sip on our coffees while waiting for her to come back but she never did. Nobody came by to ask if we needed any change!!!! Instead, the hostess came over and asked us to leave because of their wait list, at least she was more pleasant in how she asked.

It was the rudest restaurant experience I've ever encountered. With all the wonderful diners in the city such as Diner Deluxe, Red's, Dairy Lane, Blue Star, Monki and Holy Grill, there is NO NEED to go back to this place. Too bad. I'm quite the foodie and would have loved to be able to add this place to my list of favourites.

User

Man you know what I love when I go out for breakfast? Awful service.

I suggest to go here to the fine diner from what the food looked like on Instagram.

When we got there we had to wait for a bit even though there was 5 open tables. That's fine I understand. But two other people came in after us and the host sat them right away but man we have to wait longer. When we get seated we had to wait 20 minutes to even have a server talk to us. She didn't even ask if we wanted drinks just straight to the menu

My girlfriend ordered a tea and was not offered or given cream and sugar (even the people beside us were offered) and there were lipstick stains on the cup before she got it.

Food was cold. Solid 5/10.

We talked to the server about the poor service and she responded with "oh that's too bad".

I am livid and for good reason. I tried to be optimistic but I could have gone to Denny's and got better service. Thanks, won't be coming back.

User

First time I have ever written a review, good or bad. We have not had service that terrible in YEARS! We literally seemed to be inconveniencing the Wait Staff! As my husband is in the industry we can be critical, but this was awful! It's too bad because we may have come back for the food. But NEVER AGAIN!

User

Didn't tell us the daily feature. Menu was disappointing and expensive, portions were small and sad. Food was mediocre and took forever to come out of the kitchen. Hollandaise sauce was bland and food was delayed because the kitchen didn't want to make it so close to closing time.

Called the Sunday afternoon after hockey game to make reservation for 4 (plus baby) and was told We didn't need to make reservation as

"everyone in Calgary is hungover today and we are super slow there's no need! So See you soon"

when my friends arrived before me the diner was full and they were told it would be a 30min wait and that "no one here would say you don't need a reservation on a Sunday"

They were told we would get a text in 30min but Waited almost an hour for table.

Hostess was extremely rude to our entire group regarding wait times and baby seat "there's only 1 and it's obviously being used" and then when I asked the couple leaving if we could use it and brought it over she states...

"you can't have it beside the table it's too small of a space"

Ok well then why don't you help us put it where you want it!?!?!??

We Ordered breakfast Food came out cold. Hashbrowns burnt.

Friend couldn't even finish the Meatloaf poutine as there was about 5 times too much gravy which was too sweet (odd that gravy was sweet)

We would have sent it back but had waited for so long in the first place and were with kids.

The Bathroom was out of toilet paper, Kleenex and paper towel.

The only saving grace was our waitress who was very sweet and attentive.

She gave us 20% off the bill for it being cold/late.

Will never go back again and definately do not recommend to anyone.

I think the only "hungover" ones in this restaurant were the rude hostess and the cooks in the back.
