About The Fort Museum

The Fort Museum is a non-profit organization in the historic town of Fort Macleod, and is dedicated to preserving the history of the North West Mounted Police and the First Nations people. The Museum was built in the 1950′s as a recreation of the original Fort built by the Mounties in Fort Macleod in 1874. The Museum holds the standing place of two original buildings restored on their original sites and houses artifacts and information related to the town, North West Mounted Police and the First Nations people.
