Design.Talks is holding a writing workshop to develop capacities and articulate the meaning and experience of urban form. This program is open to professional and aspiring writers in Alberta: artists and architects, as well as those with backgrounds in film, digital media, theatre, public art, anthropology and geography are invited to explore a contemporary means of expressing visual form.
It’s about words. And about explorative, provocative ...thinking. Participate in three workshops over three months and a mentorship to shape your writing. Connect with peer critical thinkers and learn how to situate your writing within the publishing industry. ⠀
This workshop is focused on cultivating your writing craft. Participate in three intimate workshops and receive one-on-one mentorship to develop a published work, offering up to 14 contact hours with leading critical thinkers. ⠀ Applications accepted until July 29, 2018 with a jury review and notification of acceptance by August 15. Working together, youths ages 15 to 18 will take a movie from script-to-screen over the course of a week at this intensive day-camp.

Make sure to check out Major Matt Mason Collective’s 'PREMIUM CONTENT' - a play by David Gagnon Walker about art, consent, polyamory and the internet. It’s a play about boundaries: in relationships, in art, and the grey space where they converge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PREMIUM CONTENT is an entirely live performance experience. Every night the ensemble of six actors will switch roles, adopting one of thousands of possible casting scenarios, to flip the gender... and power dynamics within the work. Utilizing live recording in each performance, Quickdraw Animation’s Tyler Klein Longmire will create a new animation video each night, reflective of the unique casting, to be presented as part of the performance.
