My partner and I went here for Saturday date night and I have nothing but positive things to say about this unique restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with mouth-watering aromas and friendly front-of-house staff. Our male server, whose name I cannot remember, was both exceptionally informed and accommodating. He shared some tips with us that definitely improved our meal. We opted for the exotic fondue and the beef and lobster fondue on hot rocks, both of which were excellent. While it is true that the fondue meat is served in a small portion size, the meat is very succulent and less is definitely more in this case. The additional starter salad (or soup), cheese and bread fondue, and dessert of melted Toblerone and variety of fruits is more than enough to leave you feeling full and satisfied. Their drink menu is also versatile and drinks are well balanced. Will definitely be returning during our next trip to Banff!

Our favourite place to go for special occasions. Food is amazing. Fun atmosphere and great service. I recommend the vegetable fondue as a starter and the exotic fondue dinner.

I had dinner here this evening with my family, a party of 11 including 4 kids. Upon arrival a manager walked by noting my 3 month old daughter sleeping in her car seat. I had her tucked right beside me with her partially under the table as there was no chair to place her on. The manager warned my husband and I to be careful as the wait staff are carrying hot oil around, then he left. I certainly understand that this would be happening in the restaurant and had my daughter tucked in as close as we could given the table location/seating available. Her car seat was by on means blocking or interrupting the floor of traffic by our table. A few minutes later a female staff member came by with a chair stating that I needed to put the car seat on it to keep the baby safe, which I was perfectly willing to do. She however started barking orders and put the chair on the other end of the table. This means I would have to crawl across 5 adults to reach her, it made to sense. So as our party was rearranging ourselves in order to make this set up work the women came back again to bark orders at us that the baby must be in that specific chair and it must be in that location, I told her that yes I understand but we are moving around so that my baby is not on the far end of the table from me. She continued to bark orders so I asked her to please stop! She left only to return a minute later to bark orders again! I told her again to stop, at this point I was getting very upset at the treatment and began to cry, so she went to the far end of the table to continue her snark at the rest of our party! If she could have simply giving us the opportunity to shift where we were seated (which involved moving 4 children) it would not have been a problem. Instead she was pushy, inconsiderate and down right rude! There is no reason to treat customers in that way! If you have small or young children I would advise you to stay clear of this place!

Had a lot of fun here. The fondue dinner was great value for money. Great server. The ambience in the place is fun. You leave smelling like a roast beef because of the hot stone experience... but it's worth it.
The place itself has a pretty interesting history and there are telephones on each table so you can speak to other tables, if you so wish. Can be a lot of fun!

Serving staff and food were both excellent! Host was a bit brusque both when calling for a reservation and when being seated. A bit unusual considering our visit was off-peak season and it wasn't unreasonably busy.

Ample public parking located just across the street, with a beautiful walk less than a block to the location.

Overall would recommend and return for another visit. We seem to come every few years and thoroughly enjoy ourselves each time.

Food was great, we had the cheese fondue appetizer, main course of steak and chicken cooked on a hot stone, and the chocolate fondue dessert. It was a fun experience to cook the meat on the stone right at the table and all the dipping sauces were really good too. Server was attentive and very helpful in explaining all the ins and outs of fondue. Would definitely return during our next trip to Banff.

food was expensive for what you get, ordered the fondue and the portion of the meat was super small. Ended up spending $150 just to get decently full. It would be a 5/5 if the price was lower. I will pay any price if the food is worth the price. but this restaurant let me down for the price and quality. At least the service was good!

Honestly I came here looking for a nice fancy meal at a pleasant restaurant, and it was definitely priced like one! Prices were sky high. But we came, got placed at a table deep inside behind some decorations, squashed next to the area where the waiters enter the kitchen.

The waiters were relatively unresponsive and the whole interior was dim and musty-smelling (poor air circulation).

Food came and did taste good, steak being great and chicken fondue on hot plate was fun to cook. The weird thing was that the waiter was just watching as we input our card info on the machine, like he was waiting to see the tip % we would put. Kinda rude and strange...

I went there with my boyfriend to eat a TOP dinner as google says that that restaurant is on the top 10 in Banff.....but not.

At first, I understand that is a fondue place but, your cleaning team should take a look on your walls and banisters.... oily walls from fondue everywhere.. you can't stay close to dirty your clothes.....
We took a Cheese fondue and we have been served MOLDY bread. We told to the server what happen and he reply with an nonchalant air as it was not a big deal to serve that kind of food to customers who pays an huge amount of money on that expensive kind of restaurant. He tried to rectify his service and give us more meat and beer.

Thank you for that but, at first, it was disgusting. We had way more expectations from this place.

Love this place. Its a must go for me every time I'm in Banff. Just enjoying the atmosphere and experience here today on my wedding night for one more time. 😊

Very smoky, hard to breathe and hard on eyes. Dark atmosphere. Way overrated. Best thing is the neuchatel fondue (traditional cheese fondue). The meat cuts are lower quality. The choc. fondue is ok. Tap beer is flat. Considering it is fondue, it takes way too long (3 hours and it wasn't busy). Friendly service is a high point. Expensive waste of $.

This is the best restaurant EVER. Amazing fondue and the hot rock is the way to do it! The atmosphere of this place is like no other. This place is truely one of a kind! This is the only reason I come to the Town of Banff.

Enjoyed our experience at The Grizzly House. Food was tasty and unique. A bit pricey but the service was great.

Definitely worth checking out if you are in Banff. We even got an interesting phone call to our table (each table has a phone you can call)
