A good drop-in pub to have a few brews. If you're a big beer fan, get a suds sampler (4 of their locally brewed on two beers) and you can't go wrong with the selection.

Food is standard quality pub fare with a slight bump in quality for the handful of dishes where they get creative. You won't leave hungry. They score bonus points for incorporating their beers into a lot of dishes.

If you're cruising main Street in the winter or the summer, it's an excellent place to drop in for a snack and a cold one.

Additional note: The main pub is family friendly until 10 pm, and they have a good kids menu, so this is a decent place to bring the kids for lunch or dinner.

Busy, but lost our booking in line several times. Almost forgot to serve me my food in our small group of 10 until a friend mentioned it to a staff as my seat was vacant of food while everyone enjoying theirs.

Food tasted amazing. But the portions are smaller than expected for the price point.

The open standing area of a "bar" out front, felt... Like it could be cleaned up, rustic pressure sealed benches, stools, etc. To sit at a bar, I used a kids high chair... Heat wasn't truly on either, and it was cold a bit to wait..

I have been having trouble finding a place to eat out with my dietary issues. Waiter was pleasent at first. After explaining to him my situation, allergies, and requesting a vegan meal, I was not taken seriously and basically laughed at. There was no real follow up. Was ignored for the rest of my time there. My 'vegan' salad had 1/2 of an egg in it. And my food was clearly contaminated with my allergen. From where I was sitting I could see into the kitchen. It looked dirty. No hats or hair nets on the cooks. Aprons folded in half with regular t-shirts on top. The cooks were looking at me and laughing when my waiter went back there. And I ended up stuck in bed for 10 hours and in pain the next day. This place does not care about you. They make enough money off tourists not care about locals/regulars. No apologies for the egg. Waiter quickly grabbed the food and left. Service was great then went to one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Rushed out the door, when I went there to show a tourist the atmosphere. If you are concerned about a non-contaminated or vegetarian meal, this is the last place you want to go. I also have 12 years cooking experience and 5 of those as a Sous or manager. Was once my favourite place in town. I will not go back, even for the overpriced, homemade soda.

Cool place with lots of paw puns. They serve their own beer and we shared a red which was quite smooth. I had the Alberta burger which was a little on the drier side. Overall good meal. Great atmosphere with mountain views. Service was average speed.

We went in looking very forward to our first visit to this pub as we are big fans grizzly paw beer. We came in on a Thursday night and it was steady but I wouldn't say overly busy. Service was not good and we found ourselves waiting a long time for anything. Our server was nice but didn't do a good job at bringing us our drinks. I didn't even get to enjoy a beer for the entire duration of eating my meal. Food was okay but overpriced. We may enjoy the beer from a distance and avoid the pub completely.

Make up your minds.

Tuesday evening in late September. We show up at 6:15PM. All tables full. Asked if we have reservations. When we say no, we're told that there's at least a 45 minute wait. We go elsewhere. Next day, we drop by at 3:45PM, to make reservations. Told that they don't take reservations.

The location is convenient and the food (Po' Boy) did not impress me.
It was alright nothing wrong with average except the price $17. Drinks are delicious but happy hour does not exist. I will highly recommend just going to the gift shop and picking some drinks instead of sitting in.

Great beer and food. Wasn't super busy, and the service was great. We split the lobster poutine and brisket sandwich, both tasted great. They don't skimp on the portion size either.

All around great experience. Good food and good beer (they also make their own sodas, which were also delicious). This place was a great treat after a day of hiking in Banff. The atmosphere is very casual and welcoming. The food came quickly and our server was very friendly.

I would love to visit again.

There are a lot of things this brewery could have done better, especially the management.

Grizzly Paw is a very busy place, and the patio was full when we got there. The hostess should have come and check on the guests waiting in line, but that did not happen. There was a lot of neglect and seating guests down took so long.

The server offered very poor service. As a server in a tourist town, it would have been almost a second nature for a server to be professional and attentive. Our server looked outside the window when we ordered, didn't pay attention to our order at all. When the food finally arrived, the burger came with no sauce. The server did not ask us if we would like any ketchup or mustard.

Good thing about this place is that it is pretty cheap compared to brewery in Toronto. Food is generously portioned, but taste is very mediocre.

Beer is okay, atmosphere is lively, but the services and management were absolutely awful. The people working there lacked enthusiasm, almost seemed like they hate their job.

The Grizzly Paw is a favorite of ours whenever we are in Canmore. It's a micro brewery so it's pub food, but it's pretty good food and their beers are good too. We also enjoy their house brewed root beer when you're looking for something non alcoholic.

User

Their food was surprisingly good for a brew pub! Have to agree with some of the other reviews in that service could be a bit more prompt as it did take some time before our order was taken. Love their 'micro brew' pop and actually went down to their store to buy a 12 pack as it was fantastic!

We've been wanting to visit this place for a long time. Lineups prevented us from going on several occasions but today we went. A great selection of beer and everyone else's food looked awesome, I guess that's why they have so many favourable reviews. Not this one! Had the nachos. It looked like a Frisbee, made of cheese, was situated on top of some chips which were soggy except for those protruding from under the Frisbee's edges which were burnt. Major FAIL!!

User

The burger and fries were great. Beer selection is also great considering it's a pub for the brewery. Service was prompt but as it's always busy it did take a bit for the food to come. Will definitely return the next time we're in town.
