Ordered a glass of wine on a Saturday because the menu said $2 off glasses of wine on Saturdays. When I got my bill she told me that
wasn’t a thing anymore but wouldn’t make up for it in anyway. I have also never seen a server more disorganized with splitting a bill.
Took her 2-3 times to get it right. Just a poor experience overall and a complete eye roll.

ABOUT MY PARTY: I went with a group of 14 for my birthday having made reservations a week before. We went on a Saturday night at 8pm.
FOOD: AWESOME, full stop. I had their veggie wrap and yam fries. I would go back just for that meal. Everyone had a great meal. No complaints at all. Reasonably priced food and drinks. The drink menu is just okay... they really need to work on their beer menu.
VIBE: The atmosphere is dark, and industrial but too quiet for a Saturday night...to be fair Jasper Ave was pretty quiet in general.
SERVICE: When I called to make the reservation the owner was fantastic. I was really impressed with his enthusiasm about the history of the restaurant and the menu. When we arrived we were seated between two tables which was awkward. Our server was pretty unexceptional. I appreciate enthusiasm and good communication and I am sad to report we didn't get either. It also took a long time for the food to come out.
I was very kindly given complimentary dessert for my birthday.

Based on the other comments, I see that this place is pretty hit and miss. I suggest going for lunch, or dinner before you go to the main event.

1 star, mostly on account of the "poutine". I can forgive that the whole thing was barely warm, and soggy. But I can't give a pass on the fact that there is hardly any cheese in there! No one wants to pay $13.50 for a pile of soggy fries with gravy. If you have poutine on the menu, a healthy cheese ratio must be respected regardless of the cost.

Just in case there is any confusion, I've attached an image below to show what poutine is supposed to look like vs what was served.

I also ordered a burger, which at $17, really should have had some kind of seasoning. That said, it was OK. I just cannot forgive the poutine though, sorry.

Could not have had a more perfect dinner, the owner came and chatted with us and we had amazing service. Food was to die for! Came here last year after a long day at the expo and will likely continue to do so every year!

I've only been during the day or immediately after work (never in the evening) but the atmosphere is always pleasant and the food is really good - fresh and nicely presented. A group from the office had lunch here this week, and everyone enjoyed their meals. To me the only draw back is that all the tables are high, and I dislike being perched on a high chair/stool. But at least they are fairly comfortable.

Made a reservation for 10 for my wife's birthday. When we arrived thier was only enough seating for 8. I asked to speak to a manger and he was very polite but offered no solution. I did notice he was spending most of his time taking care of the large group in the back of the bar. I'm assuming are table was given to this group.

After we had already eaten they brought out an order of free dry ribs that were covered in sauce. Im assuming a mistake in the kitchen....

The food was very average and unimpressive. Overall the experience wasn't great.

Make sure when the manager Mike texts you after you make your reservation. Get him to confirm how many people he is actually booking....

Edmontons oldest restaurant try the perogies nachos, their ridiculously good! Wash it back with anyone of their special brews!

Have been there twice and the place is 'meh' at best. If a place wants to have burgers as a major part of the menu, don't use pre-fabricated patties. Service was pretty slow as well.

I won't be back. Too many better options downtown.

Food is always good. Friendly staff, cool atmosphere.
