The Haunted Wastelands Description
We have created this page to share with everyone everything that has to do with The Haunted Wastelands.
We have been decorating for Halloween for 16 years. What started out as a small display in our front yard, Has only grown in size. We now have a Walkthrough. We decorate the front yard, the sides of the house, the backyard and even the garage. We go all out! !
We have been living in Lake Chaparral for almost 7 years and for the past few years we have been doing a food drive for the Veterans food bank of Calgary. We will be doing it again this year. If you would like to donate any non perishable food items you can do so on the nights we are open. Please keep checking for updates on opening days.
As the display starts to go up we ask that you stay outside the fenced in area if you want to take a peek. As we get closer to Halloween and the yard being completed, we will have the gates open for a couple hours each night for you to come through and have a look.
We cannot wait for you all to see what great new things we have come up with this year.

What an amazing job. I’m not easily spooked at all. A few times I was really scared to go around the corner. Epic!!! Can’t wait to go again next year
Was amazing!! Went at night and the staff were amazingly considerate for those kids who were overly scared!!
This was the most impressive haunted house I have ever seen in my life... the detail was epic, the organization, the time that was put in to creating the perfect scare was mind blowing. Thank you for creating, designing and scaring so perfectly! This is a must see if you're a Halloween � lover - our new tradition!
This was honestly one of the coolest experiences ever! It was sweet to go on my son's last year of Halloween as well. Way to go out with a bang! The attention to detail in this haunted house was incredible! There were scares around every corner. There was so much to see that it's impossible to capture it all in one walk through. Thanks for making my friend pee!! Haha. I can't imagine the effort and time that went into making this spectacular show! Thank you for the great time and thank you for all you do to support the Veterans Food Bank! We will be back next year with more people!
This place is definitely on my halloween list every year! Love the charity aspect of it too.
The attention to detail is immaculate. There is so much to look at that it would take you 3-4 trips through to fully grasp everything that is going on. We went on the Thursday two days before Halloween, and while it seems like it had a lower level of scare going on, I feel like they will ramp it up on the weekend. Great job, I highly recommend it.
Really not sure how much better it can get but I'm sure they will figure it out. The amount of passion they put into their work pays off big for YOU! Want to have a blast this Halloween? Not from Calgary and we just happened to be picking something up right beside it and ended up going thru it and it was by far the best haunted house I have been thru...will totally go again if I get to Calgary close to Halloween again
Just got back from the Lake Chaparral Asylum. We had an awesome time being scared. What a lot of fun!!! I really appreciated the amount of detail and the hours of preparation that went into creating this haunted house for the community to enjoy. I highly recommend seeing this. And bring non perishable food donations for the Veterans Food Bank.
It was awesome....one of the best!! Well worth the long transit ride from the NE....I highly recommend it...
It just gets better and better every year! You do not disappoint.

An unbeatable experience with details you would never expect from a home haunt, and it's free! Donations are accepted for the Veterans Food bank. The whole place makes you wonder if you are still in someone's yard, with amazing effects and great actors too! I am fortunate enough to know the owners and they are great people and so generous. You will be amazed! Don't miss it, it gets better every year (if that's possible)!
