The Immigrant Education Society provides English language, employment, and settlement assistance for newcomers and low-income Calgarians.

The Immigrant Education Society - Ties Description

We are a non-profit registered charity, devoted to assisting immigrants and low income Canadians improve their levels of language and computer skills. We provide various levels of ESL courses, Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs, employment counselling, language training for immigrant professionals, as well as computer and accounting training courses and entry-level jobs training.

The National Sport Academy and the STEM Learning Lab have partnered to offer the National Sport Academy Connected Campus, a web-based distance-education program for athletic students. To celebrate its 30 years of service for immigrants and low-income Calgarians, the Calgary Immigrant Educational Society will be hosting an anniversary gala on October 30th, 2018 entitled One World Many Stories.
This event will commemorate the Society’s three decades of history and growth from a consultation and translation service in Forest Lawn to one of the city’s prominent language, employment, and settlement service providers. With three facilities, the Calgary Immigrant... Educational Society has supported over 250,000 newcomers from 75 diverse backgrounds since its opened its doors in 1988.
Attendees of One World Many Stories can expect speeches from members of government, musical performances, stories of success, student awards, and a multicultural buffet filled with global flavours.
One World Many Stories will be held on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at the Coast Plaza Hotel, with networking at 5:00 PM and the program starting shortly after at 6:00 PM. Proceeds from this event, which is open to all members of the public, will be used to support much-needed language, career, and counselling programs.
