Sometimes your favourite part of the meal is what comes before it. That’s why we serve our delicious bread and butter on the house to get the good times started.
Introducing our January feature, the Braised Beef Short Rib. Served with a port mushroom sauce over garlic leek mashed potatoes, they’re just what you need for the first month of winter.
Named after a famous stagecoach robber, our Billy Miner Pie has been stealing hearts since the moment we started serving it. With layers of chocolate crust, mocha ice cream, chocolate + caramel drizzle and toasted almonds, it’s hard to pick what we love most about it. If we had to, it would be celebrating with guests on birthdays, special occasions, or just because.
There’s one more gift still left to give – our January feature from us to you. What do you think it will be?
Here’s to another year of celebrating the moments, both big and small, together. Thank you to all of our guests and Keggers for making this year one of the best!
The best part of the holiday season is spending time with people who mean the most. Today, we’re wishing all of our guests and staff a restful day with loved ones. Merry Christmas, from all of us at The Keg.
The people you see every day deserve to be celebrated, too. Why not get your fun, easy going, reliable co-workers an evening that’s suited just for them.

The most important thing this holiday season isn’t shopping – it’s celebrating. So why not get your family a Keg gift card, and spend less time searching for the perfect gift, and more time together.

This season, let us take care of everything so you can take care of enjoying time with loved ones. With large party reservations, it’s never been easier to bring everyone together.
Now playing… a double feature. This holiday season, we’re serving both an appetizer and a dinner feature. So why not try both our Lobster Gratinée and our Kansas City Striploin?
Nothing puts us in a celebratory mood more than getting everyone together. Book your holiday large party with us.
Two is better than one. This holiday season, we’ll be serving two features – an appetizer and an entrée. Based on the ingredients, what do you think it will be?
There’s nothing more classic than a good time. We’re proud to serve great weeknights, weekends, and everything in between.
It’s not just the black peppercorn crust that takes this classic to the next level. We also serve this tender, flavourful cut with Whisky Sauce for an extra kick. Plus, we only use center cut steaks for the utmost of tenderness.
Each year, we’re honoured to serve up good times and delicious food alongside our Keg family. Happy Thanksgiving, from each and every one of us at The Keg.
Thanksgiving’s just around the corner, and we’re celebrating by raising a glass to our great guests and Keggers.
It’s cheesy, it’s warm, and it’s our favourite way to welcome the first week of Fall.
Our Pistachio Salmon dish takes salmon to the next level. It’s coated in butter and crushed pistachios, and topped with our own blend of maple butter.
We had another great experience at the Keg the other night!
Food is so consistent and reliable, you always know what you're going to get and it will always be delicious! The classic meals are such great value too, it's easy to justify the spend.
This particular night we had a server named Cory, and shout out to him - service was great! He was very helpful and lovely to interact with. I felt bad that we were the last table to leave the upstairs area (still had lots of wine and catching up to do once we finished our meals). We weren't made to feel uncomfortable or rushed at all, which was really appreciated!
Cheers, thanks for another good one! :)
We had an amazing belated Valentine's Day dinner - many thanks to Jason our server. Food, wine and dessert were all fantastic. We visited the same location last year for Valentine's Day and the service and food exceeded our expectations on both visits.
The cocktail list is awesome with heaps to choose from. The entrees and mains were nice and came out promptly and the service was great. The option for a mini dessert was cool too because we’re usually too full for a normal sized one
My girlfriend and I choose this specific Keg as our anniversary dinner place. Our food was amazing! Our waiter was incredible (Josh) and the service was great!
Love this location. If you go at 4 or 5 it's dead. We've always gone when they first open at 4pm there's only a handful of people. Service is fast and food is always great. Prime Rib is the best!!!
Had the escargot as an appetizer. Served hot and delicious! My steak came exactly as ordered, cooked to perfection. The steak was flavourful and tender! The server was polite, attentive and very friendly as I would normally expect!
Had our Golden anniversary meal on 2/7/16 excellent services great food if I ever come back to Canada would come again. Also had breakfast which was very good also you have a choice of a la Carte or buffet both good but everywhere it is not kept hot enough on the buffet but an excellent selection to choose from.
Always a pleasure at the downtown Keg in Banff! Food, hospitality always top shelf! Make sure you see Carl at the bar for some special drinks! Tell him down town Dave sent you!
Although our food came out cold.....then wasn't "keg" good when they reheated it, I was still very happy with our visit. Service was great, and the manager took such good care of us! Would definitely go back!
6 stars!!! excellent food, wine and service.
great service good food
ordered rib eye on bone. Turned out to be too overdone. Did not bother to change and the waiter did not bother to ask.
The appys were OK a little bland and the sliders were awful no garnish just the bun and meat and a disgusting lump of fried stuff on the side which I think was shredded onions for a Friday night it wasn't busy
Had an issue with crawling flies which we had kill well that kinda killed my appetite
Waitress was nice but food would be better and more tasty in a fast food restaurant
We won't be going back
I ordered my steak medium and it was well done. The Cajun shrimp was salty. The Mosco Mule was perfect. The service was unremarkable. Would not go back with such a large selection for dining.
Very hot inside . Medium prime rib came out just warm ,flovour was good and meat was tender . Very busy looked like they didnt have enough staff .
Very disappointed. Service was extremely slow. Wine took 20min to arrive at our table. Food was either cold or over cooked. Not the Keg Experience I'm used to especially for Banff. Plan to be extremely patient for service at this location. With all the competition in Banff, I expected more from the Keg brand.
The worst food I have ever eaten, sad to say that I just wasted $180 and now I'm sitting at McDonald's. Service was awful, I don't eat pork and I am sure I made that clear when I asked the waitress if there was any way to get the double baked potatoe without bacon because "I don't eat bacon" then she failed to mention there was bacon on the wedge salad then made me feel guilty for asking for a new one.
I am pretty sure that the food came right out of the Costco freezer! Save your money people!
My girlfriend and I were just at your location in downtown Banff. This was her birthday dinner and suppose to be a very special evening. We started our meal ordering the scallops and bacon as well as glasses of wine. All of that came out fine and timing was ok. The waiter (Juan) asked us how the scallops were and we replied they were ok, he then gave us a pretty surprised look did not say anything else and walked away. Leaving us with a bit of an uneasy feeling about the scallops. For our main course I had ordered the steak and crab, my girlfriend ordered the maple glazed salmon. About 30min went by after we had ordered, my steak and crab dish had arrived but my girlfriends dish was no where to be seen. I will not eat by myself so waited for my girlfriends dish to arrive. About 5 mins went by with my dish sitting in front of me that also did not show up with butter for the crab, when the waiter came back and said that the salmon dish had gone to another table to they had to re cook it. At this time they took my plate and brought it back to the kitchen to keep warm. Another 20min went by and they brought out our meals mine tasted good because let’s face it it’s pretty hard to mess up a steak and crab. My girlfriends on the other hand was completely uncooked with the salmon being raw Almost all the way through. I was a seafood cook my self for a few years and know how fish should be cooked. We made a complaint to our waiter who tried to say that is how the salmon normally is. This is not our first experience with eating fish nor is it our first experience eating the maple glazed salmon from the keg. This actually happens to be one of her favourite dishes, we have spent thousands of dollars eating at the keg as it happens to be one of our favourite restaurants. Anyways just thought I would give you an update on how your downtown Banff location is doing.
Thanks for your time
I'm a frequent diner at the Keg in Edmonton.
Sorry to say but Keg downtown Banff was absolutely embarrassing for a Keg.
Horrible service from a server (Michelle) that was unengaging and unfriendly. Completely ignored our kids when they were talking to her.
Food was sub- par for Keg, very disappointed and wouldn't go back to this location. Not the type of experience I've ever gotten from any other Keg I've been to.
Save yourself some the money and go to Grizzly house or Saltlik.
