The seasons are changing. But the only season I’m thinking about is SHOW SEASON! Do you have an off season plan? Off season goals? Pre and post competition the focus is mainly injury prevention, recovery for the stamina through the season and maintenance. You both are athletes and should be treated as such! Awareness. I believe that bringing awareness is one of the greatest gifts I can give as your massage therapist. Awareness of your horses body. Awareness of yours. Listening to you talk of your ride - what was the subtle off step that cost you that one mark? What is the thing that you feel when covering ground gathering cows? Is there a subtle difference from right lead to left? How do your feet feel below your hips? Are you holding your breath? My work doesn’t replace your ve...t. I can’t offer any diagnosis, but I can offer suggestions. The horse whose body makes me think ulcer. The human who isn’t responding and perhaps needs another opinion. My work doesn’t replace training. I can’t fix your horse, or fix that turnaround- but I can help you understand why it was a problem. I can take away the roadblocks that exist in the soft tissue. I can’t carry the sole responsibility to fix you. But I can help guide you on your search for the root cause. I can offer relief to your soft tissue. Support you in facilitating holistic horsemanship, aid in achieving your performance goals, in being in wellness.

Meet sweet Sugar. This mare has been to hell and back recovering from infection, surgery, adhesions, colic... her owner is a very close friend of mine and I’ve watched these two through the highs and lows of this rollercoaster of a recovery. Being a member of her recovery and wellness team is a real honour. Together with the vets, farrier and osteopath we are beginning to identify her triggers, locate her restrictions and develop a treatment plan to keep her digestion moving, release her superficial fascia (and thereby the deep layers) and start to regain her conditioning and strength, little by little. In the comments I’ve attached a video, I’m applying a fascial compression and you can see the fasiculating tissues firing. She lifts her leg at the end to facilitate the release. What a journey.

Whether you need therapeutic or relaxation massage, Ashley is fabulous. Very knowledgeable, too. She helped me figure out solutions to some problem areas - like when sore shoulder blades are actually being stressed by tight pectorals. She also direct bills if you have insurance, which makes it easy. I definitely recommend her.

I would highly recommend Ashley! She is just phenomenal. She has a beautiful and quiet space, and is so incredibly talented. I also bring my son to get massaged. He is only 9, but he absolutely loves going to see her. You will not be disappointed.

I was blessed to have a husband and wife RMT team with over 30 years experience as my therapy team for almost 20 years. Since I moved to Alberta, I have have been dissatisfied with several massage experiences at several different places. Tonight I found a talented and skilled professional just a few blocks from home.
