The Metropolitan

I went to The Metropolitan for dinner with my girlfriend couple of nights ago. We had a great experience. Asian dumplings as appetizer were really tasty. I had a Lobster Mac and cheese and my girlfriend got Chicken arugula salad as mains. Both were delicious. Our server was very attentive and polite. We had a very pleasant evening. We will be back.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Met. With its latest renovations, it has a very welcoming atmosphere. We found the staff to be very attentive and helpful. It was a great way to finish off our day. Will definitely be back. Thanks!

My husband and I went for our date night to the Met last weekend. We both ordered the NY striploin steak; it was probably the best steak we have ever had!! I would HIGHLY recommend it. Our server went over and above to take care of us and make sure we had a fabulous time. We will definitely be heading back!

I went to the Met a handful of times a few years ago. It was in a great location and the interior design was impressive. I don't recall the food but what did stand out was the quality of the servers or lack there of. Very underwhelming. They had an attitude of entitlement and superiority, lazy and rude. If this place was failing it was because of the staff.

I know recently they came under knew management so I thought I'd give it a couple tries. I was very pleased and impressed to by both the food and the staff. The servers were attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing. Really happy to have given it another chance. Really happy to see those losers gone as well. Nice to see people working who actually care to work.

We hosted our engagement party at the Met a couple of weeks ago. The staff were wonderful! The booking and planning process was very smooth and they took the extra time to make sure our menu choices were exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent and was served on schedule. They ensured that there was enough servers to deliver prompt service to our large group, and even were able to do separate billing for individuals buying drinks. Overall it was very organized and everyone had a great time.

Had the pleasure of attending friends birthday celebration at the Met this weekend. The staff went above and beyond all expectations. The service and food were top notch. Will definitely be going back. Thanks to all the staff for a great night!

The food here is amazing and the service is even better. It has a nice clean look on the inside and good music and vibes. Definitely a new favourite spot!

I have been coming here for at least 12 years. It has been great time. However, their food and service has been going down and since they lost the last manager (Jim), I wont be going back. There are plenty of options on Stephen Ave and I will just spend my money where it is appreciated.

The food was very good, no complaints about that (honestly it brought the rating up from 1 star) but the service was almost non existent. There was 4 of us and it took one plate almost 45 min to come out after the other 3 (we were waiting on a grilled cheese). We also had to ask for water on numerous occasions. They did compensate the dinner that was late and desserts for all of us on the house which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately due to the lack of service when we were one of maybe 5 tables in the entire place, is the reason for the low rating. I will think twice before coming again, or at least make sure I have no plans after eating just in case.

Excellent steak, lunch, and dinner in a chill downtown atmosphere. A friend and I won a weekend to Stampede and popped by here for a Friday night drink. Came back for dinner the next day, lunch the next, and finally our Calgary steak dinner. No need to try anywhere else when we're still working through what the Metropolitan has to offer.

I have been to the Met a few times this summer and I am EXTREMELY impressed. We hosted a birthday party here last night of about 25 people. Each person was paying separately and order a lot of food and many drinks. Our server was AMAZING, did not make one mistake and was super friendly. The party room was huge and so much fun. On top of all this, the food was phenomenal. The calamari, mini burgers, arugula chicken salad and chicken wings are great but the steak sandwich is the best one I have ever had! The steak was cooked to perfection and everything that went along with the dish accented it perfectly. The drinks are fun and the atmosphere is wonderful. I would absolutely recommend trying out the Met!

Worst experience I've ever had in a Calgary Restaurant, and I've been working downtown for 12 years. Reserved a table, they took us to the wrong table with random people sitting there. food took over an hour. my steak tasted like McDonalds re-cooked. Had a piece of fat in my teeth, they had no tooth picks and left with no apology. Don't eat here!

Newly renovated and upgraded as of April 2017. The Chicken arugula salad was very good. Had Capers and a large serving. Very busy at lunch hour
