The Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe

This ice cream shoppe is located in a unique, historical building and offers over 40 flavours of ice cream, and plenty of summer-time treats.

The Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe is a great place to stop for a treat each summer! Not only does it have some wonderful ice cream treats, it has a rich history.

Although there were several other businesses on the current lot of the Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe, the first business to be in the current building was Emmerson's Hardware, established in 1924 and later, Nunn's Hardware.

The Pass Dairy Ltd. , owned by Joe and Maggie Fauville, relocated here from Bellevue's original Main Street. In 1968, Rudy Andrist purchased Pass Dairy Ltd. where he produced his nationally acclaimed "Pass Dairy Mozzarella Cheese". In 1969 he expanded the operation to include the popular soft ice cream parlour. In 1992, Alpha Dairy bought out and closed the dairy.

In 1994, Murielle Carlson (Lapointe) purchased the dairy where she re-established the ice cream parlour under the name of the Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe.

In 2014, Bernita Vander Veen purchased the Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe, desiring to serve the community quality ice cream, with old fashioned customer service.

The Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe currently serves a huge selection of ice cream treats May through September. Try our home-made waffle cones, a Coal Miner Special, or one of our many special summer treats! Our rich history, and tasty treats, makes the Old Dairy Ice Cream Shoppe a charming place to stop each summer.
