The Salvation Army is a social profit organization. We believe in helping everyone regardless of faith /background. We have been in Fort McMurray since 1979.

The Salvation Army is the largest non-governmental provide of social services in Canada. In Fort McMurray, we are at the frontlines responding to the immediate needs of our community. We believe in people, partnerships and possibilities.

We serve the homeless and near homeless men and women of our community as well as low income families and individuals.

We operate a two emergency shelters (the All Persons Mat-ter program and Men's Emergency Shelter), Community & Family Services and soup kitchen at our Community Services Centre at 9919 MacDonald Ave.

Our Hardin Street offices house our START program for adults with learning disabilities and our Housing First program.

Our Community Response Unit, a mobile kitchen, responds to local emergency and disaster scenes to provide food and refreshments to those impacted by the event as well as the First Responders. The unit is also out several nights a week providing food and personal care packages for the men and women of our homeless community.

The Salvation Army also operates a Thrift Store which sells quality used clothing and household goods at reasonable prices. It is open 10 a. m. to 4: 30 p. m. Monday to Saturday.

The Salvation Army has a church at 125 Elmore Dr. Sunday school is offered. All are most welcome to Sunday services which begin at 11 a. m. year round.
