Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) has become a therapeutic alternative to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy over the last few years. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) officially declared the use of the dental appliance as an appropriate first-line treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) for patients with mild to moderate apnea, based on comprehensive, long-term evidence showing its efficacy.
