Had a friend show up the other night that I haven’t seen in years and she wanted to know how the knitting machines worked. So we made a toque! I used the cheapest of cheap yarns from Michaels, Craftsmart Super Value yarn. Last minute wedding gifts for some friends who finally decided to make it official after 10+ years together 💛 Since they will be moving to New Zealand in a few months, I wanted to make something small and easily packed so he got a toque made from my “Big Damn Heroes” colorway and she got a lace weight scarf in a colorway I just could never put a name to. I GOT A SPINNING WHEEL!!!!!! Thanks to my lovely friend Holly at @ilex.every.day I’ve managed to appropriate a very basic, quite possibly handmade spinning wheel so I can spin my cotton into a thicker ply so it is more useable. Im so excited to start using it but first I have to fit it in my tiny apartment. She has been dyeing like crazy the last couple days to make sure there’s something there for everyone. I will be there to assist in running the booth/trunk as Holly is days away from having her baby (not even kidding, literally DAYS away from giving birth). Come on by! I’d love to see you all 💛

Spent the day with my friend Holly and we did a test dye in the yarn I bought at auction two weeks ago. I am very happy to say that the test was very successful 💛 However, we did decide that we’ll have to spin the yarn into 2, 3 or 4 ply yarn to make it stronger and more appealing to use. Since I apparently bought approximately 750,000 yards of cotton yarn (yes you read that right), I think we can still make quite a few dyeable hanks to use 😉 #yarnspinner #yarndyer #machineknitting #fibreartist #cotton #SBLE

The scrubbie-soft cleaning mitt is the best thing I've bought in a long time. Cleaning the sink took way less time than normal thanks to the ease of being able to flip back and forth as needed. And it's well-made and machine-washable, which means I'll be able to get a lot more life out of it than my previous sponges!



Good quality, attractive, affordable, and local. I'll be buying a lot more of these for stockings come Christmas time!
