We found this place by accident and it's now our go to everytime we are in banff. Great food, great service and great atmosphere !!! Only disappointment was that I can't buy the cute toque glasses anymore but I'll get over it
The food was bang on and the beer was nice and cold, service received from waitress was brilliant. Her name was Allycat!! She knew all the beers to memory and provided advise about the food available, funny and very friendly, very pleased with the food and service
The best service we had the whole 4 days in Banff was at Toque. The server made suggestions that weren't just "up selling", she was funny and helpful and fast. The food was beyond amazing! We had the sliders and the mac n cheese bites and even though we weren't initially very hungry, I told the server "we're going to finish these if it kills us." All in all a great experience and the next time we're in Banff, we're definitely going back there!
Looking for a great place to watch sports ... the toque is perfect ! Great weekly specials and awesome sound, not many places in town offer commentary for games. We watched Canada beat Russia in the World Cup semi finals with some awesome local beer and wicked nachos !
Hot sauce aka suicide sauce is made in house and incredible. Best fries in town and a little game nook. Great local watering hole for sure!
Classy furniture, excellent food, cheap beer ($9 steins at happy hour), and excellent games area (pool, darts, deer hunting). Will be back while in Banff!
Very friendly and prompt service, checked up on us regularly. I liked the decor and fun Canadian signs explaining out sayings, but felt the space was a bit to open. Not sure if they were trying to go for contemporary or Canadian to the point of excess, but could have been warmed up a bit inside. The food was great, drinks were great.
They played ufc 217 when Brewster’s did not. Lots of space in this bar, decent food, and a narrow menu for fight night means short waiting time. Clean area as well.
The hotel on the ground floor burned down above this basement bar, so the decor is very spare. There are few tourists, and the local service industry staff tend to congregate here an hour or two before the inconveniently early closing time of 11:00 PM on weekdays. Service is great, the booze selection is narrow, but the Buzztime trivia system is fun, and the music level is low enough to facilitate conversation.
Ok... This place was great! We were there yesterday for an early dinner.. The decor is Canadian with all the sayings posted on the wall ... EH? ... Food was great and the best place in Banff to buy a tee shirt!!! Or a Toque!!! LOL ... Our waitress Meghan ( hope I spelt right) was so great!!!!
One of the highlights of our trip to Banff proud of our country and love traveling in it!
Jay , great service, taking time for conversation! Great place. Recommend Highly!
Great bar to watch the fight in last night. Very attentive staff. All I would say is that they only seemed to have one red wine, no other wine. And the majority of the other drinks were all craft Canadian beers with no description on their menus. I am a wine drinker so just a couple of whites and reds to choose from wouldn't have been great.
I had the Mac and Cheese. It was flavourless and grainy. Good atmosphere, though.
The service was ok kind of awkward though. Very nice impressive looking lounge but I was there for lunch. Me and gf both ordered steak sandwiches and our food tasted like absolutely nothing. It was very strange but I don't even know how they got it to be so bland. 2 stars on food but looks like a cool place to go for drinks so perhaps a weekend night would be a much better idea.
Nice atmosphere but no service. Went in the VLT room and played for about 1 and a half hours. Not one person came and asked if I would like a beverage. Was going to make that my supper spot but I decided to go somewhere else.
My husband, daughter and I visited Banff yesterday, thought we would try this place and to be honest was not impressed. My poutine was cold, my husbands chicken wasn't even cooked and the service was terrible. Will never go back. Bad representation of a Canadian restaurant.
Agree 100% with a previous reviewer. Our waitress was a lovely and engaging Aussie. But the food. Big disappointment. The duck poutine was pretty average. Lots of duck, but a bit dry and flavorless. The nachos were just horrible. Dry, cheese baked on till it was nearly black, and a small amount of salsa and sour cream. No guacamole. Not good enough, Toque!
The wings were tasty, but dry. The service was horrible. We would have ordered more food, but our waitress could not be bothered to come back to our table. The only reason we got our check was because we walked over to the bar. We will not be coming back and the other customers who had the same waitress were very upset as well.
I used to go to this place every time I visited Banff. Tonight I waited 20minutes for a server. He did show up eventually and was great. It's been 45min since I ordered my burger. Still waiting for that burger....
