Note that water pressure will remain reduced overnight and will be slowly returned through the day Thur...sday (Sept 6th).

Water Shut Off Notice for Wednesday Sept 5, 2018
The Town of Three Hills is preparing to repair a water main break on 3rd Avenue NE, tomorrow morning (Wed. Sept 5, 2018) at 8:00 am. As a result, there will be a disruption of water service to all homes and businesses located along 3rd Avenue NE (between Main Street and Hwy 583).
The Town of Three Hills Utilities Department will be working diligently to ensure that water service is returned as efficiently as possible. Please check back to this post for updates as to when water service will be returned.
It is recommended that you reserve a sufficient supply of potable water for use during the outage.
Please note that 3rd Avenue NE will be closed to all non-local traffic during this time.
How can I prepare for when my water is turned off?
You can prepare for a water service interruption by storing water in the fridge for drinking. Store water in your bathtub, clean pails, sinks, jugs or any clean container that is appropriate to hold water.
Ensure all your equipment that relies on water is handled according to the manufacturer's specifications. For example, air conditioners may be required to be powered off. Other equipment may have bypass valves or shut off valves that should be turned on or off. If you are not sure what to do, contact the manufacturer or the place of purchase.
Do I need to do anything when the water is turned back on?
When your water is turned back on, you may experience a temporary discoloration of water due to the sediment in the lines getting stirred up. To clear your pipes, turn on your cold water laundry tub tap (or the tap located nearest your property's water meter/shut-off) and let it run for a minimum of 10 minutes or until it runs clear. If you still find your water is discolored, remove aerators (screens) from taps, rinse and return.
If you have any questions, please call the Town of Three Hills Office at 403-443-5822.
