We updated our WordPress to V5.0 today on our marketing site at https://marketing.foundlocally.com/, and updated our WP theme and all the plug-ins. So far, so good (and yes, we did a full backup before proceeding) .
They say less plug-ins are needed, so we are testing to see which ones are now redundant with built-in features with the "Gutenberg" edition and editor of WordPress.

In response to Finance Minister Morneau's economic update and $700 million subsidy program "for qualified journalists", and a tax-credit for subscription revenue model (which only makes a difference for consumers, not businesses, who already get a 100% tax deduction for business expenses), we have this comment:
I have a better suggestion, that is tax-based, non-preferential and market-based, does not require a new bureacracy, avoids perception of media bias, and requires onl...y a tiny change to existing tax law and practice.
