I was very excited to try this restaurant based on other reviews and ratings. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away like most people were.

Food was good, not debating that, the roast vegetables were awesome. It just didn't amaze me like I hoped it would!

Definitely one of the better locations I've been to in Canmore. Still hoping for more...

Hard going in with higher expectations.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The place is cozy and the food excellent. Great service too! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Canmore.

Great food though about 50% overpriced. Service was good but not beyond what should be expected. They were short on a few of their signature menu items. Ambiance is a little too rustic, approaching rundown.

We didn't have a reservation but they made space for us alfresco style.

We were hosting a wedding in Canmore and we brought our quests to the Trough. The food was delicious and I really appreciated that the waitress spoke French. We were able to book the patio which made it enjoyable so everyone could visit

Our experience was top shelf from the beginning to the end. The accolades from the other reviews are true! The dining room was fully booked so we sat on the patio which was lovely and warm. My friends and I enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Unique flavours were blended with different colours and textures, the presentation (holy attention to detail) was gorgeous, the portion to price ratio was reasonable, we loved the impeccable yet casual air of the server and, finally, our conversation with the owner, Richard, revealed that he is a gracious Entrepreneur who dedicates countless hours to perfecting his craft.

The truth is in the stars, friends.....4.6/5 to be exact at the time writing. For me, 5 solid stars.

From the perfect setting, to the nicest service. Our server (Andre) knocked this meal out of the park for us. The AAA beef was cooked on point and the desert wrapped it all up for a great night out. It's a bit pricey but food at this quality is worth every dime.

Amazing food, spectacular service, adorable place! This is hands down my favourite restaurant, perfect for a romantic date as it is super quaint and cozy, it is a bit on the pricier side but it's worth every penny.

We loved this restaurant quite a bit: cozy and rustic, with fantastic food. Flavours tied very well together from start to finish through each dish.
This visit saw beautifully fresh food with touches of earth and smoke.

An outstanding restaraunt. The food was excellent and our server did a great job and definitely contributed to a great dining experience. Would highly recommend and would definitely return. The prices are a bit on the upscale side of the spectrum, but they are worth it, great value and meal portions are perfect.

An excellent choice for a nice night out. A bit on the expensive side but a very quality menu. We had a lovely brochettes with a wonderfully tender medium rare steak. Their wine selection is also quite nice. I would definitely suggest reservations...they have limited seating. Definitely in a class of their own in Canmore!
