U-Haul Moving & Storage At Barlow Trail

Unfortunately, I returned the truck "after hours" and because I did not take a PICTURE of the fuel gage, I was charged an excessive amount for extra gas because the employee inaccurately read the gas gage. Speaking with the management of this location did not fix the situation, they were cussing as well as consistently making up stories to attempt to cover their own tracks. I was told the truck had not been taken out again so I could check the gage for myself, later to find out it had been out twice since I had returned it. As well, the amount of KM I drove fluctuated between 140-200 km. The great deal I thought I was getting by choosing to move with U-HAUL did not turn out as I was promised and instead I was "RIPPED OFF". I would not trust this company to move again, which is sad because I worked for U-haul ten years ago when I was 19, as it was a good first job, and the customer service then was honest that being said things have changed a great deal.

I don't know why this place has gotten such a bad review. Service was quick and efficient t. Mind you I went there on a Monday morning. Got a nice city 15 footer that got the job done. Word to the wise: don't wait until the last minute to book a truck because they won't t have any at the end of the month or on a weekend of any given month. Book a monday off and do it then.

and when customer calls for inquiry customer service opens a case and managers without giving a call closes down a case saying customer agreed to pay charges.

This place has some of the best staff I've ever met for you all lots of selection lots of service lots of packing material everything you would need to make your move happen if you need to move you got to go to this location

Good vehicles, nice prices, but … The phone system sucks. All local phone numbers take you to an IVR that takes you in circles, or to a 1-800 number that is not available in Canada. There seems to be no way to talk to person at the local site. The web site does not seem to be much better. However, the Android mobile app does work very well, once you figure out how to understand the directions on how to use it.

Booked my rental online, picked it up here with no hassle. Staff were friendly and quick. Had no issues and drop off went very smoothly too.

Their "in town" trucks are very "used" for lack of a better word. Instructions are to take pictures of any damage not already marked with an "x" sticker. There must have been 100+ x stickers on the truck already. To be certain I wouldn't be charged for damage, I had to take pictures of every square foot of the truck and upload them. Self checkout is definitely the way to go, but the line ups are very long, if you need to go inside, be prepared for a wait.

Picked up a trailer. After my experience at the Kensignton Uhaul I decided to take the drive over to this one. It was worth it. Quick and easy pick up and drop off. Both the guy at the desk and the guy in the lot were professional and efficient. That being said I was the only one in there at the time. I will go back to this location next time I need a rental.

Service can be fast and efficient or slow and, well, inefficient. I picked up a truck last weekend.picking up was fairly quick and mostly painless. Returning it in the other hand took almost 45 minutes. Last time I turned a truck the guy had a PDA off some sort and did everything on the spot, this time the guy handed me a piece of paper and I had to go inside to finalize it. Not a big deal really, except there was a 10 people line up. Only 2-3 people working there. One lady kept taking people to the trucks, like she didn't want to be there, no one ever took me to show me the truck and I've been there a few times. Another lady was walking around and randomly helping some people, but not all people, no matter where they were in line, so some were helped quickly and some, well, stood in line for a while. Truck was OK, had better there, it didn't feel as stable as some others, but it served its purpose. All in all it was alright.

I had a UBox delivered here from BC. The Uhaul in BC was great. This one was terrible. I got three phone calls 2 days earlier than predicted. The message asked us to unload the entire UBox the next day even though part of the rental agreement is that you have a month. When I called the next day, there was no one there that knew how the uboxes worked. They assured me someone would call back. This happened the next day and the next. On the third day I kept calling back and was transferred to the US, was finally booked a time and assured the manager would call me back within half an hour. They did not. When we came the next day at that time, again there was no one there that knew how the uboxes worked. We came back two hours later and the lady that knew about the uboxes said she'd been calling and calling me. When I told her she only called on day 1, she said yes but that she called many times. When I told her someone told me a manager would call me back, she laughed and said the manager wasn't even in the country. Then she pressured us to unload the UBox that day. She would not take no for an answer even though she agreed that the agreement meant we had rented the box for a month. We ended up doing this because they had removed the water proof covering from the box and we didn't really trust them to leave our stuff there. I'm glad it's over, and that's the best thing I can say about this particular experience.

Don't recommend. No one seems to know what they are doing. Called 3 times in advanced to make sure and triple check things were in place prior to getting there and I still received the "I don't know what your talking about ... Nobody told me" statement. Then several days later I get charged for a service I did not receive. Highly advise looking at other options. I will not be returning.

Booked my U-Haul trailer 2 weeks ago, showed up 15 minutes early and another customer still had my trailer apparently. Waited another 45 minutes and still no trailer. Absolutely brutal, I have 7 people waiting to help me move while I wait. Had I received a phone call from U-Haul indicating my trailer was not yet available maybe I would be much less upset about this.

Rented a truck here for moving the staff were helpful and easy to deal with. Rather then look for boxes I bought them here as they were a great price.
