Uccc Society Private Ecs Program Description

At the UCCC we are proud to offer a very enriched and hands-on program. Our kindergarten program is inquiry and play based. We believe that nurturing the whole child is essential in optimizing a positive educational experience for our young learners. We offer many unique experiences that set us aside from the public system.

The kindergarten program at the UCCC consists of a balance of carpet and table work, small group learning as well as centre-based play and exploration. We explore literacy and numeracy through group discussion, number and letter practice, journals, reflections, the “Seeds of Empathy” program, art activities, manipulatives, games and music. At the UCCC we believe that play and exploration are an essential part of a child’s growth and development. While larger public schools have limitations and restrictions that they must adhere to, at the UCCC we offer a program that supports and encourages multiple community field trips and experiences throughout the year. Multiple comunity field trips spark learning back in our classroom. These experiences are relevant to the children’s immediate lives. A love for learning is nourished at the beginning stage of the children’s formal education.
