As the only free standing faculty of rehabilitation in Canada, the University of Alberta Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine balances its activities among learning, discovery and citizenship (including clinical practice). A research leader in musculoskeletal health, spinal cord injuries, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, chronic pain management, seniors health, and the application of information and communication technologies to support community care; we are the destination of choice for rehabilitation professionals, researchers, students and scientists.

SLP Class of 2000 reunited on Sat, July 7 at Corbett Hall. Organized by Rosemary Chakkalakal, the 18th reunion brought together 15 classmates and coordinated with a visit from a classmate currently living in Australia.
Lili Liu’s research clarified challenges with reporting and identifying missing individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Now she’s helping develop a system that allows the public to upload sightings to aid local authorities.

Congrats to FRM's Dr. Kim Adams for receiving a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grant! This grant will allow Dr. Adams to further her research project: Evaluation of assistive technology resources for access to hands-on activities by students with disabilities and assistive technology teams.

On Thursday, June 7, the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine's Department of Occupational Therapy held a retirement celebration for distinguished faculty member E. Sharon Brintnell. Over the last 54 years, she has been an important contributor to the field of OT.
