Summer is NOT over— last night Fin took his retro-style C1 on the easy side of Harvie Passage. Cooool.

STAFF HIGHLIGHT: Did you know that our climbing instructor Nick Martin is a guy of many talents? In addition to climbing, mountaineering and paddling, Nick teaches Swift Water Rescue with Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine. He's the guy that you want on your team...or your trip. Our paddling program manager, Angela Harder, is just back from a two week (1st leg) of the Leaf River paddling trip in northern Quebec. This was the first time using a new inflatable boat that we will have available for rent next summer. Steven Wapple is also guiding but will be out there for the final 2 weeks as well. Beautiful tundra scenery with lots of wildlife sightings: musk oxen, black bear, caribou, and really good fishing for spotted (brook) trout. And of course the skies were clear and the water was clean! If you would like to experience an incredible paddling trip to explore untouched, natural tundra like this, look out for our Horton River trip in the summer 2019 program guide.

Spend a day with us on a spectacular glacier hike in Banff and Yoho National Parks where we'll travel through the heart of the Lake Louise group of mountains. Good trails lead us to Wenkchemna Pass though the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Our route then takes us past the 'eagles eyrie' to Opabin Pass on little-traveled paths. We negotiate two small glaciers at Opabin Pass to join the trails of Lake O'Hara. Prerequisite: very good fitness, previous hiking experience. Our hiking guide/program coordinator Rachel Oggy was out in Bow Valley Provincial Park again this week. Check out this beautiful Western Wood Lily, and a pretty little in-progress dam by the beaver ponds. Rachel seems to know where all the special spots are.

Jeff Bullock just finished creating the new climbing route at the Dome (above Lac des Arcs), and an eagle flew overhead, so...he named the new route "The Eagle". Cooooool.
