User

Vagabond has unreal food. I had the beef-dip last night, and I've had good beef-dips in my time, even great ones, but Vagabonds beef-dip was like dipping brisket into the nectar of the gods'. 10 out of 10 would eat that every day.

User

The folks at Vagabond have always done a great job of serving up great food and drinks with a smile whenever I go. This is the closest restaurant/bar to the North End of the Stampede, so things can get pretty busy and crazy during the Stampede rush times, but they seem to do a pretty good job of handling the crowds. There was a great selection of craft beers on tap and my burger was awesome. The prices seem to be the same as other establishments during Stampede, which are not unreasonable right next to a World-Class event like the Stampede. And they have had some awesome live music with no cover charge the last few times I've been there. Definitely worth stopping in if you need a break from the craziness of the Stampede grounds or before or after concerts at the Saddledome!

User

One of my best place for local draught beer and delicious food. Love to be here. Check it out folks!!

User

My friend and I come here every year and love the staff great food and service.... I called this place my Calgary stampede kick off place

User

Just plain awesome. Great staff and great food.

User

I can't believe I just found out about vagabond. I went in tonight for battle of the bands and not only was the live music great the food was delicious. I ordered the vagaburg and it was probably the best burger I've had in a long time! Our server gave us some of the best service we have ever had and I will definitely be back to vagabond again.

User

Had the angry hawaiian pizza and hot damn is was delicious. Fantastic service and all around great experience. Will definitely be back!

User

Great place, delicious food, amazing service and widest selection of craft beers ๐Ÿป must check out!

User

Great food and an awesome atmosphere to dine. Love the proximity it is to downtown without having to deal with parking! HIGHLY recommend Vagabond! Also... if you meet Meg (I think that was her name)... You're in for a treat. She was absolutely hilarious and made our night! I wanted to go back just to be friends with her! Amazing crew!

User

Fabulous venue! Great Food! Excellent Service! Friendly atmosphere! Can't beat a night out at Vagabond!

User

Best falafel pizza I've had hands down! I spent 2 consecutive nights at this bar, travelled by solo from the States. I met the owners (husband and wife) and we had a ball partying late into the evening. Darren and Megan made my visit to Calgary much much more enjoyable had I not met them. Check this place out for a chill evening with friendly staff and the customer service you expects from a family business. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Calgary! Cheers guys

User

I like the place...thought the sound was good...the food is tasty...service was good and fast...good place for bands.

User

We didnt have a reservation so were offered bar or comunal seating. Hadn't heard of that before but I guess an interesting way to meet new people. The service was ok, the food was mediocre but the prices were good.

User

Went on a quiet night in a large group where a gratuity was automatically added however no one informed us. So after a late night consuming beverages, everyone double paid the tip, servers didn't say a thing. We were all wondering why the bills were so high. No one realized this until one of our party members mentioned this a few days later. Most of us did not keep the original bill. Won't be returning

User

I ordered the Rueben Sandwich. There was 4 small pieces of meat. The fries were over salty and tiny. My wife ordered the Beef Dip and the portions were very small. I was expecting more for the price. I can go to a Mom and Pop restaurant and have a better Sandwich for alot less.

User

What an absolutely pathetic experience. Before you read on... I emailed the manager/owner to let him know of this experience and I got NO REPLY. They literally could not care less.

Food took OVER an hour to come with only 8 tables having customers. The beer is insanely overpriced (10 dollars for a domestic bottle? WHAT?), and the food was garbage. Burger was super dry (as others have said on here), buffalo chicken wrap (one of the easiest things to make) was overcooked yet COLD. Mac and cheese with smoked bacon was so salty we could have melted the ice in front of the restaurant with it.

The food coming out was so slow the table next to us just left their half-eaten food as they had to get to the Saddledome before the game started. (You would think getting to a restaurant at before 5:30pm for a 7:00pm start would be fine when it's two blocks away).

Overall it was the worst restaurant experience I have had in at least 5 years. The icing on the cake is that the management cares so little they did not even respond to what was a very politely written email regarding the experience. Don't be surprised when this place is shut down soon.

User

We went to vagabond for the first time tonight. Unfortunately we won't be back. We were a party of 7 and five of us ate dinner (2 just had drinks).

Of our five meals only my brother's flatbread was correct (and I will say very tasty).

However two of us ordered Reubens and neither came with cheese on them, the bread was not grilled and stale when we asked for new ones to be made we were informed that they were out of Reuben meat so we ordered the beef dip instead.

Those came to us without mushrooms or onions (which it is supposed to have) my mom's beef dip which she had ordered originally came without onions as well. When we received our bill not only did we not have a discount of any sort we were made to pay in full. My girlfriend's grilled chicken sandwich was also burnt but since it didn't even come to the table at the same time as the rest of the food we didn't say anything about it.

User

Give Me a Break...

- All 20 oz beers, including their 2 house beers = $9.00 (either you're going under or you need to get over yourself)

- Food prices = reasonable, but expect your meat to be overcooked (not good enough)

- Service = Average (what do you expect from Calgary & the "Easy-Button" generation)

Do yourself a favour and go to National on Tenth, Pig & Duke, Local 510, etc. where the the quality is good and the prices are reasonable.

User

As a repeat customer, I am extremely disgusted to see the way in Vagabond has decided to operate during stampede. We left the grounds Sneak-a-peak night to come down to Vagabond as I have had great experiences in the past, but this past experience has completely turned me off. After sitting down we are greeted by our server who places the "Stampede menu" in front of us. The three of us are absolutely shocked at the prices, $12 for a bottle of Budweiser, $15 for a cocktail, and when we asked for a glass of water WITH our beer, we were notified that "we do not serve glasses of water, only bottled water for $1.50." Our bill for one Original 16 draft, one Gladiator cocktail, one bottle of water and one Somersby cider was $38...ridiculous. Very disappointed that a great establishment has decided to use Stampede to take advantage of paying customers, which has in turn, completely lost a returning customer, absolutely disgusting Vagabond...
