Vex Performance

Would highly recommend to any friends with an import! Saved over 500 bucks just on my 48k service on what Platinum Mitsubishi quoted!!

Well it is time I write a review on the dealing I have had with VEX Performance. I will start off by saying Ryan has been extremely professional since day one. When I brought my STi back from NS I needed an out of province inspection done, so I called up VEX which was in Red Deer at the time. Ryan said no issues bring her in and they will take care of it. Car was dropped off and the OOP was conducted without issues. My front subfame was pretty bad so Ryan said they could source a OEM replacement or I could get something aftermarket, well I went with the Carbing part.



The next time I talked to Ryan I was in a bit of a pinch, I needed fuel rails asap. I was supposed to have received rails from another company but that fell though. Needless to say Ryan was able to get me a set of Cosworth rails extremely quick and at a reasonable price.



While I had the car apart I wanted to install a rear diff and transmission cooler, they came up with some quality parts that would make the system work well in the small area. Ryan recommended using Setrab cooling pack which had 2 coolers and 2 fans in one nice package.



In 2015 I wanted to upgrade my clutch as when I pulled my ACT 6 puck out the disk was pretty warn out. Ryan was able to source an OS Giken R3C triple plate clutch at a very good price one I couldn’t resist. The clutch showed up with everything I needed to install it and even came with a nice shirt.



Just recently I was in another time crunching moment. Car was on the way up the ramps to get an alignment done. Well somehow the rear diff let go and made some terrible sound, like a bag of marbles inside the diff. This happened Saturday and I needed the car back up and running by Tuesday night so I could get it down to Toronto for a tune. Ryan reached out to me and asked if he could help in anyway. After talking and trying to confirm in fact it was the rear diff he gave me a few options but in the end the best option was to send a complete diff for a quick install. I wouldn’t have been able to get someone local to install the diff into my case in time. SO Ryan being the great man he is pulled the rally car diff off the shelf packaged it up and sent it out to me. It had a OS Giken diff inside it so I should never have to worry about it. Shipping sucked because it was here in less than 24hrs but it was installed into the car 2hrs after that and solved my issue. He also threw in a few T-shirts so I could soak up my tears LOL.



Even when I was not buying parts or just dropped by the shop while I was in the area, the guys at VEX were always willing to chat and shoot the shit about builds and things going on with the shop or the Subaru community. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend VEX for something as small as one part or all the way up to a full out build.

Took my car in for a clutch replacement and i couldn’t be more pleased with the work these guys did ! Not only does my car run 100% better, they also found my shifter was super sloppy and fixed it and didn’t even charge me the labour for it , cant say enough about the guys over at vex performance if you ever need your car worked on by guys who know what they are doing and don’t charge an arm and leg vex is the shop to go to.

Took my bmw 2jz swap there for a tune using ecu master. Jimmy found few issues with the car while his doing pre dyno inpsection which it didnt bother me at all because it was minor..few days later i got a call from him telling me that the fuel system is totally garbage which i was surprised because it was recently done and already paid another shop to do it but i was happy he found whats wrong with it because its a safety matter..so he ended up sending me videos and pictures what was wrong with it..we ended up doing new fuel system and it was good to go..im really impressed with their services and communication..ya maybe their prices is a bit higher than other shops but at least they do it right from the first time..picked up my car after couple weeks and i couldn't be happier..the car left the shop like a beast ...i highly recommend them to anyone thats not looking to waste time and money at other shops

These guys are awesome. They have help me so much with providing me information and repairs on my JDM Subaru and my USDM Subaru. If you are having problems or just want to build your car up Ryan and Jimmy are the guys to talk to. Can't thank these guys enough

They were knowledgeable about potential issues that may arise in the future and had an excellent sense of background on the car. Ryan was never afraid to communicate when needed. Would recommend!

Ryan at vex answered my every question about swapping the heads on my motor. He was able to supply parts for me and provided excellent customer support. Thanks! Certainly recommended from me.

Ordered set of Recaros, was told a few weeks later only 1 could be found so was offered exceptional discount on set of Bride seats in stock. Knowledgeable staff, keep up the good work, customer service is always everything.

I brought my car into VEX to resolve an issue with my brakes - they were able to diagnose and resolve it. I also had my timing belt and all drivetrain fluids replaced - reasonably priced and quick turnaround. I won't hesitate to recommend VEX to anyone.

I brought my GTR in for a Alpha 9 package. Two years later I haven’t had one code, one oil leak or problem with the install, and car has been rock solid. Every emails and questions I sent was replied to super quick and they they did what they said they would do in the time frame I was quoted. Had a tiny hiccup when my chin spoiler was scrapped up from a lift and they paid for it and later found out how it happened. I wasn’t upset cause problems happen in life but it’s how it’s rectified is what counts. Would go back to Vex anytime and recommend it to anyone.

Had a catastrophic caliper failure on my 09 sti on Friday whilst road testing after a dyno tune. Rendered the car buggered and couldn't be driven but these guys seriously stepped up to help. They knew the solution to the problem and had me booked in right away. The young chap at the front even offered to drive me back to Canmore so I could get home.

So glad i found these guys and will be taking my car to them for all future work from here in.

Pretty awesome selection of aftermarket parts from OZ too, such as Haltech and DBA which made me feel at home.

Took my car in for a clutch replacement and i couldn’t be more pleased with the work these guys did ! Not only does my car run 100% better, they also found my shifter was super sloppy and fixed it and didn’t even charge me the labour for it , cant say enough about the guys over at vex performance if you ever need your car worked on by guys who know what they are doing and don’t charge an arm and leg vex is the shop to go to.

Took my bmw 2jz swap there for a tune using ecu master. Jimmy found few issues with the car while his doing pre dyno inpsection which it didnt bother me at all because it was minor..few days later i got a call from him telling me that the fuel system is totally garbage which i was surprised because it was recently done and already paid another shop to do it but i was happy he found whats wrong with it because its a safety matter..so he ended up sending me videos and pictures what was wrong with it..we ended up doing new fuel system and it was good to go..im really impressed with their services and communication..ya maybe their prices is a bit higher than other shops but at least they do it right from the first time..picked up my car after couple weeks and i couldn't be happier..the car left the shop like a beast ...i highly recommend them to anyone thats not looking to waste time and money at other shops

I brought my car into VEX to resolve an issue with my brakes - they were able to diagnose and resolve it. I also had my timing belt and all drivetrain fluids replaced - reasonably priced and quick turnaround. I won't hesitate to recommend VEX to anyone.

I brought my GTR in for a Alpha 9 package. Two years later I haven’t had one code, one oil leak or problem with the install, and car has been rock solid. Every emails and questions I sent was replied to super quick and they they did what they said they would do in the time frame I was quoted. Had a tiny hiccup when my chin spoiler was scrapped up from a lift and they paid for it and later found out how it happened. I wasn’t upset cause problems happen in life but it’s how it’s rectified is what counts. Would go back to Vex anytime and recommend it to anyone.

Had a catastrophic caliper failure on my 09 sti on Friday whilst road testing after a dyno tune. Rendered the car buggered and couldn't be driven but these guys seriously stepped up to help. They knew the solution to the problem and had me booked in right away. The young chap at the front even offered to drive me back to Canmore so I could get home.

So glad i found these guys and will be taking my car to them for all future work from here in.

Pretty awesome selection of aftermarket parts from OZ too, such as Haltech and DBA which made me feel at home.

Well it is time I write a review on the dealing I have had with VEX Performance. I will start off by saying Ryan has been extremely professional since day one. When I brought my STi back from NS I needed an out of province inspection done, so I called up VEX which was in Red Deer at the time. Ryan said no issues bring her in and they will take care of it. Car was dropped off and the OOP was conducted without issues. My front subfame was pretty bad so Ryan said they could source a OEM replacement or I could get something aftermarket, well I went with the Carbing part.



The next time I talked to Ryan I was in a bit of a pinch, I needed fuel rails asap. I was supposed to have received rails from another company but that fell though. Needless to say Ryan was able to get me a set of Cosworth rails extremely quick and at a reasonable price.



While I had the car apart I wanted to install a rear diff and transmission cooler, they came up with some quality parts that would make the system work well in the small area. Ryan recommended using Setrab cooling pack which had 2 coolers and 2 fans in one nice package.



In 2015 I wanted to upgrade my clutch as when I pulled my ACT 6 puck out the disk was pretty warn out. Ryan was able to source an OS Giken R3C triple plate clutch at a very good price one I couldn’t resist. The clutch showed up with everything I needed to install it and even came with a nice shirt.



Just recently I was in another time crunching moment. Car was on the way up the ramps to get an alignment done. Well somehow the rear diff let go and made some terrible sound, like a bag of marbles inside the diff. This happened Saturday and I needed the car back up and running by Tuesday night so I could get it down to Toronto for a tune. Ryan reached out to me and asked if he could help in anyway. After talking and trying to confirm in fact it was the rear diff he gave me a few options but in the end the best option was to send a complete diff for a quick install. I wouldn’t have been able to get someone local to install the diff into my case in time. SO Ryan being the great man he is pulled the rally car diff off the shelf packaged it up and sent it out to me. It had a OS Giken diff inside it so I should never have to worry about it. Shipping sucked because it was here in less than 24hrs but it was installed into the car 2hrs after that and solved my issue. He also threw in a few T-shirts so I could soak up my tears LOL.



Even when I was not buying parts or just dropped by the shop while I was in the area, the guys at VEX were always willing to chat and shoot the shit about builds and things going on with the shop or the Subaru community. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend VEX for something as small as one part or all the way up to a full out build.
