I am so happy that Aspen Gold has been picked by Pantone as one of 12 colours of the year 2019, as announced during the New York Fashion show last month. All my life it has been my colour, and if you'd turn me inside out, or run me over, I'm sure this is what you would see.
This colour can quite easily and evenly be achieved with the use of freshly ground turmeric.
Thank you colour and style specialist Rosita Pronk for the inspiration for this post.)

Any stark blues you were so certain of during the day will break into endless, ever-changing pastels before night. If you had paid attention, you could have seen it coming by how the light breaks in each single drop of water, or frosted snowflake. Size XXL, long vest, with corriedale, merino, wensleydale, silk fibres, textiles and velvet.

I made this vest for a farmer, from her own beautiful Gotland wool. Grey adult ewe, dark brown and light grey lamb locks, on a blue dyed base of mixed wool. She has good reason to be proud of her beautiful wool and the love and care she puts into her flock. I added silk textile and fibres for sheen and elegance. For the shoot, I paired it with my favourite mineral, a necklace from unpolished Lapi Lazuli. I use wool from local/ small farmers whenever I can, and find it very gratifying to go through the process of readying the wool for felting purposes, and turning it into something raw but beautiful, and sustainable.

Warm reds and winter greens: the colours of Christmas. Reversible vest with pockets, large size. Natural madder dyed wools, silk fibres, and silk velvet with soft colour variegation. The green/grey woven silk is salt dyed. The locks are Gotland and mohair, dyed with the Redding method, and the yarn for the embellishments is spun merino/silk. A red velvet rose adorns one side, and a happy beaded snail the other. Available now, please pm.

Trees standing in a snow covered world, like words on paper, saying shh don't speak, just care. Expo piece, not yet available.

5 Pounds of hand spun, felted core wool from Anne Goodwin's alpacas (A&B Fibreworks in Alberta, they have a mill as well) went into this ultra soft and warm sweater. Knit on the rocks.

I love to see large surfaces of elements contrasting with each other. Solid-fluid, steady-movement, greys-colours, warm from the sun-cold from the snow. So here, I tried to get this on wool.

Dear people, if I don't respond to your questions immediately, it is because I am not behind a screen, and don't have a cell phone either. But I will respond to you when I read your messages. Thanks for understanding.

Call for local fibres: I am making a map of fibre animal breeders/ keepers in Alberta, in order to create awareness of all the fibre varieties available, to provide support to local farmers, and to help build sustainable routes from farmers to communities/ guilds/individuals etc. Please pm if you'd like to be added, mentioning what breeds you have, when you sheer, how you want to be reached (FB, website, store, online shop) and characteristics about your flock or farm, ethics, history, whatever makes your fibre special to you.

Just when I thought I'd never felt again, certainly not with pink fibres, I find new inspiration in the colours of wild fire skies, and burning embers. And as our planet is suffering from global warming, I used the gentlest of dyes. 1: powdered madder, different mordants and treatments; 2: organic food colors, silk took 3 different baths; 3: avocado pits, locks dipped in brazil wood; 4: 2 soft pinks brazil wood ( the non threatened version form Asia), hot pink silk and red locks commercial dyes, which disappoint me.
