Super stoked to show off our last big project of the season all finished up! We got to design and build this deck on an awesome log home out in Water Valley for Sara and Sped. They wanted to add a functional outdoor space onto their new home to help enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. We took some rough ideas and expanded them to create a product that doesn't stick out against the log home, but complements it. We cut off the corners, added wrap around stairs to a very tricky gro...und slope, built in some 6x6 posts to hang lights and shades over the deck, and worked some magic to rebuild and repurpose a section of log railing previously used inside the house to become a functional and strong safety railing that brings the log home feel out onto the deck.
We put in all of our signature touches to this deck to blow it out of the water and give a feel of the highest quality. We cant wait to see the use this deck gets over the years, and the value it adds to this gorgeous property!
Huge shoutout to Matt Pinkus for the stellar help getting this done through rain, snow and the worst mud we have ever worked in!

Completed pictures of our highest value project to date. We got this stunning hot tub deck and vinyl fence combination finished up recently to the delight of our awesome customers, Ellen and Ryan in Altadore!
Ellen and Ryan wanted their old deck and fence torn out, and replaced with brand new alternatives that will stand the test of time. We decided on this high quality 6' high vinyl privacy fence with lattice and black iron accents on the gates, and for the deck they chose ...a gorgeous shade of brown composite decking - Mocha by Timbertech. This was to be accompanied by the glass/aluminum railing to really open up the yard when using the incredible Beachcomber hot tub and enjoying the deck.
This project was a huge challenge for us, as we wanted to get every detail perfect to bring together a great outdoor space deserving of the time, effort and money spent to get it built. We started off pouring a 6" thick 8'x8' slab for the hot tub and then framing the deck before building and finishing the fence. Once the hot tub arrived we lowered that into the custom sized opening in the deck - with the height the deck needed to be and the features of the hot tub we needed to accommodate, we had less than an inch that we needed to be within to be high enough underneath to fit in an external pump unit for the tub and above the deck be able to access the controls for the bluetooth speaker system. We nailed it! Then came the joist protection membrane and composite decking install - we took care to ensure all deck boards lined up, with our gorgeous specialty border detail around the deck, hot tub, landing area and each step to add that extra touch of class. We finished off with a solid composite skirt to close off underneath the deck while blending in perfectly, and a hidden access door.
Ellen and Ryan love their new space, and we couldn't feel more proud of how this turned out! We cannot wait for our next composite deck project and the features we get to build into it!
We will be back there next week to properly finish the siding on the house and add a cool landscaping wall feature with built in step to get the yard ready for the winter. Keep your eyes peeled here!

Sunday night. 9pm. Almost done hauling lumber for tomorrow's project...

Quick stair rebuild in Bowness a couple weeks ago. These old front entrance stairs were due a refresh, so we took off all the old nailed down planks, repaired the original stringers, added some extra framing and laid down new treated boards. They came out great and the client loved it - happy happy!

We were lucky enough to build the garage here for her last year, and this year took on the task of replacing an old, sagging deck and building a huge new one over her old yard. Finishing it off with some maintenance free rock and gorgeous paving stones, this is definitely our favourite project to date. Lisa's whole yard has now been designed and built entirely by us and we couldn't be happier! The transformation from before to after is incredible, and Lisa was ecstatic with her new outdoor space!

Finished this Trex wrapped deck up a couple weeks ago down in cranston for repeat customers Jud and Nicole.
We took their old builder deck, removed the railings and decking and extended it 3 feet. Adding in the cedar privacy screen, wrap around box stairs with cut off corner and completely finishing it with this absolutely incredible Trex decking in 'Gravel Path'. The colour blends in great with the colors of the house, and the cedar screen adds that touch of wood to tie it i...nto the fence colors and the rest of the yard.
Achieving a composite decking finish like this is time consuming and challenging, but the end result is just stunning! It couldn't look cleaner thanks to the Trex hidden fastener system and Cortex screws filled with colour and pattern match plugs. The fascia/stair risers alone have 3 screws every foot - try and spot them!
We were so incredibly happy with how this project turned out, especially with the amount of time and care that we took. The end result almost outshone even our high expectations, and Jud and Nicole loved it!
We cannot wait for our next composite deck project!

Project progression. We don't notice so much the day on day progress we make on a project, but looking back on photos like these it never ceases to amaze how much impact and value a simple deck renovation can add to a home - especially when completed to the highest quality!

We finished up this huge ground level deck addition last week for Jim and his family. Starting out with only the top builder deck, we removed the old wood railings and old decking. Replacing those with new brown treated 5/4 decking and some immaculate black aluminum railing.
The ground level deck was added to give the family more outdoor entertaining space and provide space off to the side for a future hot tub. This one required a lot of careful planning and execution, along... with some crazy framing to ensure the deck could withstand the added weight of a hot tub! Adding in a cut off corner, box stairs and some funky border detailing around the whole deck and into and around the stairs, every detail combined to give this deck a high quality finish to complement it's structure.
We completed the project by closing off both sides of the house with 2 gateways - 1 being a hidden gate to blend right into the fence, and the other a beautiful entryway complete with 2x8 arbour above and circular iron gate insert. Its safe to say we had a blast on this one, and couldn't be happier to see how happy Jim was with the finished product!

It's been a crazy summer so far - so much work done and so much lined up! We teamed up with Branden Bertin and Bertin Landscapes again on this 12x12 brown treated deck in Livingstone with box steps and aluminum railing. We include picture frame borders with all our decks at no extra charge - just because it looks so much better!
This one came out perfect again and the customers were ecstatic with the end product!

We finished up our first garage of the season last week, putting an end to a week of hard work for an awesome finished product! Our customers completed the slab themselves and have an electrician to wire up the garage afterwards, so we came in and did everything in between! Framing, roofing, siding and eavestrough, door/windows/overhead door.
We did everything for a great price, and the build quality far surpassed any other garage product on the street - most of which are bui...lt by bigger companies offering basement prices, going to show that in construction you really do get what you pay for!

Our most recent project was a full main floor installation of some gorgeous 8" vinyl plank flooring, finished off with full baseboard and door and window casing installation for Brad and Emma in Airdrie!
The finished product looked absolutely incredible, and gave the clients home a huge transformation. With every aspect of the project completed thoroughly and professionally, we provided a finished product that not only looked great, but will perform and look great as long as it's in the home!
