Waves Coffee House - 17Th Ave

Great place to sit down bring your laptop and just work. Or hang out with some friends in a warm and cozy coffee shop. Coffee is very good and there are a lot of healthy options to choose from besides your various baked goods.

This is the best coffee shop I have been to in Calgary. The menu is extensive with all sorts of drinks. They have awesome sweets to go with your coffee too. I really like the fact that they display and sell art to support local artists.

This place is our all time favorite. We just love the atmosphere and it's easy to find a parking spot nearby even it's located on 17 ave. Coffee is great and the staffs are super friendly. Highly recommended!

Amazing atmosphere! The gentleman that works in the morning is so friendly and professional. I had only come in one time before and he remembered my order! In a busy city it is so nice to find a place that is cozy and feels like home.

My favourite coffee in the SW hands down. They brew the perfect cup of coffee. Great prices too considering it is an upscale shop. Lots of seating in and out. Great staff and service.

Just witnessed the male asian server, Rob, deny a long time customer to use the washroom by rudely telling him loudly and waving his hands if you don't buy anything this time you cant use the washroom, "its not a public washroom". I have personally seen this guy there at least three times in the last week buying all kind of stuff. Learn to differentiate existing or potential customers!! I am sure he isn't coming to this coffee house neither will our whole study group until he is gone!

We first wanted to have coffee next door at Marcus, but the place was packed so we opted for Waves. And we were glad we did. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our latte and espresso were delicious with the latte having nice art as well. Made on a La Marzocco machine, you can't go wrong. I am not sure of the origin of the beans, though.
Our kids liked the place too and played with the toddler toy while we drank our coffee :-)
The downside was the limited variety of desserts offered - no pastries, but this was late afternoon and therefore I don't blame them. Other than that, a very pleasant experience !

Super Friendly and definitely a great place to meet. Lots of room and not jammed in like sardines.

Great coffee, low key atmosphere, friendly staff, and clean tables! A perfect place in Calgary to drop in for coffee and conversation. Fast WiFi.
