Here's what we did in the second quarter of 2018!

Alhamdulillah! As our month of Ramadan comes to a close, We Care is happy to report the success of the pilot project, the WeCare Pantry. Generous Muslim community members have donated canned and non-perishable food items over the last few weeks, giving back to those people in need. The WeCare pantries in the Ranchlands Musallah (NW), Akram Jomaa Islamic Centre (NE), Mackenzie Town Community entre (SE) and the SW Masjid have seen a steady increase in the number of donations and users as people become more aware and comfortable with the idea of anonymous aid. While the service began in Ramadan, the WeCare Pantries are open all year round, at any time of day and all people of the Calgary community are welcome to give and take the food items they need without any questions or formal process.

HamdAllah a very successful Eid Al Fitr hamper!
In collaborating with Enjoin Good-Community Serving Community, we delivered special Eid hampers to 200 needy families in Calgary!
A special thank you to the students at Calgary Islamic School Omar Bin Alkhattab Campus for making these wonderful goodie bags!

HamdAllah the WeCare Pantry is up and running!
Bring one of the following non - perishable items every time you come to the masjid, and drop it off at the pantry:

Join us for our Monthly Food Hamper Drive.

AlhamdAllah another very successful Food Hamper! WeCare has collaborated with Enjoin good to prepare more than 180 families for Ramadan.
Thank you to all the volunteers and drivers that came and helped out!

AlhamdAllah another successful Food Hamper in Brooks!
Over 140 needy families received a food hamper thanks to the very generous donations from the community.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this event happen!

Scheduled this Sunday, WeCare will be hosting the 2nd Food Hamper Drive in Brooks and the county of Newell. Food hampers will be delivered to 120 needy families inshAllah!

We are very proud to share our first newsletter of 2018 with the community! The community's generosity have allowed us to serve over 200 families in the first quarter of 2018, take a look at the newsletter to know how your donations have changed so many lives!

We would like to announce a new initiative by WeCare and Muslim Council of Calgary; WeCare Pantry, a free food pantry for families in need, no questions asked! Community can help by donating the items specified. Bring a food item every time you come to the Masjid. The following items can be donated: Canned beans (black, kidney, red, white, black eyed, chickpeas etc) Canned Tuna Pasta Sauce and Pasta)... Tomato (paste, diced, pureed) Cooking oil (Vegetable, corn, canola, olive) Dry lentils (red, yellow, black) Rice (Brown and white) Flour Sugar Salt Tea bags Canned fruits and vegetables.
