It would seem I over-advertised with my dill and ended up having the biggest day ever on the produce stand! That leaves me a little short of the Jewel basket tomatoes, so if you want one of the 2 you better hurry!
No zucchini ready this morning, but there is half a dozen lovely little slicing cucumbers, just picked 15 minutes ago :)

User

Great morning for cucumbers and zucchini today! Finally. The one or 2 a day didn't go very far and were gone by noon :)
Produce stand is full, and should be pretty good for the whole weekend, at least in the tomato department! There will be a second cooler out with bulk fresh cut dill for all you canners and dryers out there. $5 for a massive bundle, $10/pound. Last bag of garlic scapes is now $3.
Map in the comments!

The produce stand is coming to life! I am only doing a few pounds of tomatoes a day right now, but it's building. The seasonal item right now are my fresh garlic scapes! Nothing like them in a stirfry or pesto, a mild and crunchy garlicky treat. You can also find lots of fresh dill and many varieties of live potted herbs. For a limited time I have 1 gallon Golden Hops on sale for $5 each! Cucumbers and zucchinis are coming soon :)
The stand is set up daily from 10-8 on the honor system. I will be putting a sign on the corner at River Road on Saturday :)

User

I had optimistically put a sign on my produce stand saying OPENING JULY 1st, knowing that was reeeeally early! BUT! look what I found among my beauties today. New colours and flavors and all sorts of heirloom numminess in JUNE!! A 1000 more fruit growing and ripening every day too.
First half of July, the cherry and grape tomato baskets should be making their comeback in the produce stand :)

I have had requests for a reminder on how to sucker and string up your tomato plants, and here is the video that focused me on stringing! The first couple of minutes are on what to sucker, but the whole video is worth a watch.

We hit ZERO this morning! Looks like the same thing tonight. Cover your young squash and cukes with buckets for protection, and drape a light sheet over your tomatoes and basil. Be sure to take them off in the morning.

User

The apothecary is open today 11-4, and if you are looking for golden hops, 2 year old asparagus, strawberries, herbs, or a Pattypan zucchini or Galieux d'eysines winter squash to fill holes in your garden, I have them! Open 11-4 :)

User

Tomorrow is my last day for heirloom tomato and hot pepper plants. I have about 15 1-gallon tomato plants, all about 18 inches tall and in flower and fruit for $10 each. Various varieties, mainly cherries. I had one no-show for an order, so we now have the very popular blush, an oxheart and 2 blue beauties to add to the mix! People had put dibs out for a spare black cherry and there were 2, sorry if you missed out! Next year :)
Cayenne and jalapenos are in a 6 inch pot for $8 each. Also have a huge selection of herbs, 2 year old asparagus, rhubarb, golden hops and a few squash. My apothecary is also open 11-4 if you are in need of dried herbs or a new iced herbal tea blend :)

User

Final weekend for tomatoes! Join me in the sun for an iced tea on the biggest gardener's weekend of the year!
Most have made their way home now, but the rest of these big boys need to be planted up soon for best production for the season so I encourage everyone to pop by and grab your pre-orders and perhaps an extra or 2 if you have space. There are 35 unspoken for heirloom beauties of many varieties to look at, plus all sorts of herbs and veg...gies. I will have some of my favorite winter squash and zucchini out for sale.
I will be planting up any leftovers next week and they will be available for $15 in a 2 gallon pot on the last weekend of May and into June if you should need one. If you can't get your pre-order this weekend, give me a shout and I can be available anytime Tue-Friday next week.

Just a reminder that tomato plants are lush, tall and green and looking for their forever homes :) This weekend I am open 10-4 Saturday and 1-4 Sunday for pickups of pre-orders and sale of my last 40 extra plants. Lots of herbs, hot peppers, strawberries and gift ideas for mom available in the garden and in the Apothecary!
Please bring last years pots for reuse next year and message me if you are coming for a big pre-order (more than 6 plants). I will box you up the biggest and the best before hand!

User

While the weather behaves the next couple of days I will be powering through my seeding and transplanting outside so if you would like to swing through and pick up your tomatoes that would be fine. The dogs will let me know you are coming in!
Big orders please give me the heads up to get your order separated out and boxed. There are still a decent number of unsold plants to peruse as well :) Peppers, herbs, rhubarb and strawberries too. Monday and Tuesday 10-7.

User

Here's an added bonus if you come today to pick up your tomatoes! I have put my garden books on 50% off my marked price ($2-$7 now) as I desperately need the apothecary shelf space!
I have about 80 extra unsold tomatoes this year of many varieties, especially bizarre and fun cherry tomatoes I am trying for my produce stand baskets. Plus peppers, strawberries and about 25 types of herbs. More added daily :)

User

Both the Apothecary and the Garden of Eatin' for tomato pickup are OPEN today, 10-4! Lots of herbs and peppers out too as well as a fair selection of heirloom tomato plants. Also open Sunday 12-4 with a tomato talk and tour on top of each hour.
I have had a few people looking for directions so here is my little map I use. Hope to see you today :)

My Veggiedome greenhouse is PLANTED!! For a late spring I seem to be keeping up with my chores :)
If you want to plant your greenhouse with your ordered tomatoes this week, give me a shout and I will box them up and have them ready to go! They love stretching out their roots at this stage, planted ones are almost twice the size of their potted counterparts. A little heater is essential for our nights for a couple of weeks but they are fully hardened off to the sun now and are loving being outdoors during the day.
