Wanted a specific nightstand, they responded within 1 business day on social media! Went in to purchase and pick up, got it loaded into my car all in a total of about 10 minutes.

Fantastic customer service, both in store and in loading dock area.

Nightstand was wrapped and packaged securely, easy to put together, in great condition and looks like the stock photo.

Thank you!

Purely based on customer service, I'm blown away! I called inquiring about an ottoman and a gentlemen name Kensie (sp?) was so incredibly helpful and went the extra mile! Well done west elm- this employee is a gem!

Love this store! One of my favorites for style and quality! In the past I have had to order through the online store and all went well with that process. I am super excited that I no longer have to go to Toronto or the USA to see their products. Welcome to YYC!

Loann has been absolutely amazing to deal with. She was helpful and knowledgable and truly goes to length to deliver the best customer service possible.

Thanks Loann and West Elm!

In February I ordered a number of furniture items I had seen at the store in Vancouver Granville, but the Vancouver store refused to ship to Yellowknife. I received all the items, in perfect condition, within 3 days. This was the most pleasant and easy furniture order I have ever made. I found staff at the Vancouver store completely uninterested in helping me when they found out I needed the items shipped. When I called West Elm in Calgary I had excellent, timely and consistent service from Mackenzie, who followed up well within his stated time estimates. Plus he was super nice and easy to deal with. The furniture is great and the customer service was excellent. Thank you!

As a designer in Edmonton I was looking for display tables to use in a clothing store and time was of the essence. West Elm had the perfect fit and Makenzie went way above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I got them in time for the grand opening. A big heartfelt thank you to Makenzie and the staff at West Elm Calgary!! Since then, every time I have called and inquired about product the staff has been nothing less than courteous and helpful so I'm very happy to bring repeat business there :)

It is great that Calgary finally got a West Elm!! But can anyone tell me why there won't be a bathroom section? I found that quite odd and no one at the store could give me an explanation...

Ordered a side table mid October and a Modern buffet a week later. I have never heard of or seen either. Quoted 4-6 weeks. Fair enough if it was the later, but we are coming on over 13 weeks and not a word? It is a bit insulting when I get 4 emails/ day from West Elm trying to get me to buy more, and check out the latest sale. I have tuned them out, so if my furniture actually arrives before the summer I will likely miss the email as it will be in my spam by then. Perhaps spend less on marketing and email promotions and more on actually delivering the products that people have already paid for. Buyer beware to anyone shopping at West Elm that actually needs furniture in the same season that they ordered.

the worst customer service I've ever received. I ordered a couch, two chairs and a coffee table. Essentially when you buy from the store you have to be prepared to 1) never receive your items 2) never receive call backs from the store so you will need to constantly babysit 3) if you're lucky enough to finally get your item, you'll receive it damaged. My couch was apparently in stock and ready to pick up the same weekend I had purchased it, but was later told that the garage door was broken - I could understand that. A week later no one had called me back to let me know what was going on and when I could pick up my couch. I called more than 10 times in the span of 2-3 weeks. I finally wrote in a complain to head office who then called me to apologize and ensured me that the manager of the store will be following up on each item I ordered from here on out. Soon later I got a call from the manager of the store who informed me my couch was ready for pick up. 1 down, 3 more items to go. Essentially the same situation happened with the chairs. I kept having to call the store only to have someone say they would call me back but never did. The coffee table is still a nightmare. After calling the store for 3 weeks, someone gets back to me and tells me it's ready to be picked up (Conveniently after I had emailed head office again about my issues). After picking up the coffee table and setting it up, I noticed two large permanent marker lines on both the top and the bottom of the coffee table. I called the store immediately and whomever I spoke to said she needs to check with her manager and stock guys and she would call me back. You can guess - I never received that call. I called in again and requested to speak with the manager. The associate identified herself as a manager and said she would need to double check with her manager if she could throw in a free delivery for all my trouble. She specifically said she would call me right back, today. I never received that call. So here I am, having to email head office again. To be completely honest I'm thinking of returning everything I purchased back to the store because I'm so furious and disappointed with the customer service. It's not the furniture delivery times or even the damaged furniture I received, it's the principle of customer service. My advice - save your time and money. Shop somewhere else. It's not worth it.

The worst!!!! The first time I went in I bought bedding, the staff wouldn't help me look for the Euro shams, claiming what is out is out. I look through other areas of the store and find them with other bedding lines.

I go back again and bought a floor model fixture. I had to wait a week to pick it up, no idea why as it is a discontinued model. Get there, no one knows where it is and the floor model I was buying is still hanging. They say we have a new one, here you go. We got it from another store.

I get home, no light bulbs!!!!!! They don't tell you they are extra!!! I call and they say someone should have told you. I live an hour away, told them that when I purchased and here I am with half a light fixture. So inconvenient and will NEVER shop there again!!!!

West Elm Calgary you are 0 for 2!

The earlier reviews that are awful are true in every respect. I will start with the positives: beautiful show room, convenient store location, and you'll only do well in the store if you buy what's readily available to take home right away.

The customer service here is absolutely appalling, which is unfortunate because the furniture is quite nice and the attractive setup deceitfully promotes promise. But seriously, the people that work here are the kind that you would normally cross the street to try and avoid. As you enter the store doors, you are not greeted, helped or even acknowledged. When you finally do track someone down for a question about product or inventory, they are already hastily trying to get rid of you. The process of ordering and actually receiving your furniture is the exact same story: inaccurate and unacceptable timelines, incorrect pieces and parts being delivered, and of course, not a single care from an employee at the store. Calling, emailing, visiting the store in person--all these avenues result in the same scenario: an employee apologizing, claiming to write down your issues to alert the manager and then only leading you to find out later the manager has never heard of you and your problem has never been brought to their attention. Repeat this process x9, at least.

Now before you ask yourself, "can it really be that bad?" Yes, it can.

Still waiting for someone to call us back??? Rang 4-6 times for an update on our massive order (we spent about 7k) it's in the 7th week now & I have heard nothing. I am getting extremely frustrated.. Appalling customer service.

Ordered a couch in early November 2015. Finally heard something from the store a week ago after hearing absolutely nothing, saying they were ready to deliver our order. The delivery guys show up with half of the couch - we had ordered a 3 piece, L-shaped couch and the corner piece we ordered was "never put into the system" even though our receipt from the store clearly shows 3 items which we paid for upon purchasing.

Since a week ago we have now been chasing down the manager in the store trying to get the rest of our couch. The other day they offered my fiance the floor model corner as a temporary replacement until a new corner piece could be ordered for us. We called back to say sure we'll take it... oops they sold the floor model after promising it to us!

I just called and the manager passive aggressively told us that had we called back faster we could have had the floor model piece. This was literally a matter of hours in which they could have just held it for us until waiting to hear back. She now "estimates" the warehouse will be in stock in late February, with "probable" delivery of the piece we paid for 5+ months ago in March.

Never again.

Looked at the website. Found the sofa of my dreams (more expensive than anywhere else). Drove over to the store here in Calgary and was kindly given samples of the leather color I wanted. I went home all excited and called back today to order. Guess what? Nope...nope... "even though it's advertised online" we house completely separate items. I spoke to a manager who was so kind and is now seeing if she can find a way to source this sofa for me despite the fact that it's not available in the store or in the California distribution center. It's "imported" (likely made in China). Nice staff ~ West Elm needs to get their system together and either have a drop down where you choose your local store and then see what they can source or have a .ca site and be sure that if it's not available, they mark it so. Frustrated and annoyed. If anyone knows where to find something like the 76" Axel Sofa, I'll be grateful. They may redeem themselves and if they do, I'll take down this review.

I've been waiting for a coffee table I ordered on October 27th. They quoted 4-6weeks for it to be in stock. I called before Christmas and they said it is now looking like 8 weeks. I'm so frustrated I just want my money back. It's sad to see so many disappointed customers, how does this business even survive??

User

I was so excited to have West Elm open in Calgary. A few weeks after the store opening in September, I arranged for free design services, and had a lady come into my home. After measuring the rooms, she said she will contact me with the layout and furniture suggestions within a week. 2 weeks passed...and I heard nothing. I called the store and left a message after 3 weeks of waiting for email or a phone call, and she called back saying that she is very behind, but she is working on it. Well it's November and I have not heard a thing from her. What is going on?? I am just so disappointed.

I purchased a rug, 2 pendants and curtains shortly after West Elm opened (Aug 22) and I still haven't received any of the products (Nov 25). I called after 5 weeks (ship to store delivery time) and the first 2 people didn't even bother to call me back after I inquired about my order.

I've been dealing with one of the managers ever since and although he said he'd find out when the rug was expected from the manufacturer he hasn't followed up with me since before Halloween. I will give him credit though as he offered me a discount on a rug that was available at the store. He said he'd try and find something close to the original rug. However the rug ordered was a mustard yellow and all of the options provided were cream, not exactly what I had in mind and they looked like the rug I was replacing.

Three times someone at the store has offered to get the curtains shipped in from the Vancouver store but every time I call they seem to need to "order" them again. It does not take 2+ months to get something shipped from Vancouver.

At this point I'm just going to go in and get my money back. Worst retail experience I've ever had which is disappointing since I was very excited about West Elm coming to Calgary.
