West Springs Church is a Christian community that meets regularly to worship, learn, serve, and do life together. Our building is located on the west side of the city of Calgary.

Our roots are in the Methodist movement led by John Wesley and others who first started meeting in the 1700s at Oxford University in search of a more meaningful and vibrant Christian life. The group came to be called Methodists because of their methodical and intentional approach to cultivating a spiritual life.

West Springs Church is a Free Methodist congregation. The Free Methodist denomination was founded in 1860 by many who, concerned by what they saw as unhealthy trends at that time (including ownership of slaves), desired to return to an emphasis on the original teachings of Methodism as effective tools for living an authentic Christian life.

West Springs Church is a community of everyday people from all walks of life committed to gathering with friends and neighbors on The Journey of following Jesus Christ. Whatever your roots, wherever you're at on your own spiritual journey, we welcome you with open arms to join with us on The Journey of following Jesus Christ.
