Western Direct Insurance (Permanently Closed)

Insurance premiums are very nice and low from other insurance companies. But they are too bad for claims, my new vehicle got the hail damage on July 30,2016 and it took me too long to resolve this hail damage with their claims department. They don't have particular page to stay on first they told me its write off and then suddenly after couple of weeks from they they started making stories no it's not a write off its repairable and blah blah blah. And finally on October 14, 2016 after a long fight with them over the phone they sent me a write off vehicle cheque. So it took me 2 and half months to resolve this issue, which makes me total pissed.
Also one thing in last they are not reliable company they are thieves, I'm paying full insurance with rental vehicle coverage but they never given me rental. They only need money, they don't provide service. Never gonna come back to them again, it's the worst experience of my life.

TD insurance is way better then them it's couple of bugs more but they are way better for claims, they care about their clients. I recommend TD insurance.

Western Direct is underwritten by The Personal Insurance which in turn is owned by Desjardins. I chose Western Direct for their low premiums and The Personal had very friendly and knowledgeable sales staff in Toronto. As long as you don't have to deal with their claims department, all is well. Claims is a writeoff, pun intended, they won't return your calls and are overall very unhelpful. They weren't able to answer my questions, waiting over two weeks for an adjuster to come out and were "out of office" on vacation almost everything other week. Overall the whole claims process was a nightmare and very stressful which I guess is the case with all insurance companies some being worse than others.

I got vehicle insurance at competitive price, and found this company to be a reasonable and good for new comers to Canada.

They need to improve customer care and need to enhance call center capacity to reduce waiting time.

I haven't had experience of insurance claims yet, lets hope will find good support, if required.
