I received a message today asking what should they do with this water cooler. First of all, do not put it into the garbage as it contains gases that are harmful to the Ozone Layer. Bring to our landfill and our contractors will remove the gases and send it off for proper disposal. This goes for freezers, water coolers, air conditioners and refrigerators as well. Thank you.

At the Commission meeting Jan 25th, 2019, a decision was made to add onto the recycle building to accommodate larger loads of cardboard and for storage. We also will put in a small sorting table to help increase possible revenue from recycle materials. We will try and keep you posted with progress here.

The Regional Landfill will be closed from December 23 to Dec 26 for the Christmas Holiday.

Reminder that we will be closed December 23 to 26th for Christmas, reopen on the 27th. also Closed on Dec 30, 31 and January 1, 2019 for New Years. On a seasonal note, if you have a few extra cans of food or any non-perishable foods, take them down to the Westlock Radio station Wednesday morning, December 12th, and help fill the cruiser there a d get Matthew off the roof. Let's help make it a Merry Christmas for those less fortunate.

So, we keep getting broken in to. 2 to 3 times on average. Now they are breaking into buildings, so we have had to spend thousands of dollars to increase security and cameras. We had to repair sea cans owned by one of our partner recycle companies, just to have crooks use a grinder to them again. I estimate a cost of $4 to $5,000.00 a year is spent in repairs done by these people. That is about 25% of what is supposed to go toward capital reserves. No wonder we can not get ahead. We catch them, get them to court and they are fined a couple hundred dollars. Police are getting them to court, judges are failing us. I just wanted to give people an idea of extra costs we have to cover from our fees. Oh ya, this does not include the lost time by me and staff cleaning up and repairing the damaged, which is very high.

Hi everyone, sorry for not being on lately, been busy working on budgets and proposals. We are still wet, but staff is working hard to keep traffic moving. Seeing issues with people leaving waste strung along the road, it is not our responsibility to pick this up but we do it anyway as a good neighbor. Just be advised that if you get caught trailing your waste along the road it can be a fine of $115.00 per item on the road, so it can add up fast. Please be curteous to your neighbors and pick up after yourself. Thank you and remember to recycle.

We are being asked if the landfill will on Saturday, September 1, yes we will. Regular hours, 9am to 4:45pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. thank you.
