NEW SUMMER MENU at the Saloon

We stopped in after a long bike ride in Banff National Park. The service was very friendly and attentive. We shared the calamari while having very delicious sangria. The calamari was fabulous and the best we have ever had - huge plate to share and the aioli was perfect accompaniment. Will definitely be back.

We stopped by here today with our two kiddos and the grandparents, the drinks were great, the food was amazing (seriously, the calamari is mind blowing) and the service was attentive, friendly and prompt. Definitely worth coming back for.

Venturing out of your everyday routine you expect something different, a new experience and friendly over the top service. "Where the Buffalo Roam" delivers in every aspect.



Food - The chef clearly has full creative control as his menu is completely refreshing and unexpected.



Environment - excellent energy from the moment you walk in as Proprietor Shelly Young greets you and immediately makes you feel comfortable and invited. A warm rustic vibe with a lot of reclaimed materials decorate this great little "new age saloon" environment.



Staff - all of the staff seem extremely positive and attentive while adapting to all of the diverse demographic that visited during our lengthy 3.5 hour experience. Jessica was fantastic!



Price - completely justifiable and affordable.



This will become our "go to" pub anytime we frequent Canmore.

This place was amazing, the owner was amazing even though she looked stressed every now and again!! Most definitely will come back!!

This is my new favourite place to eat in Canmore!! The atmosphere is fun, the food is amazingly delicious and the staff are wonderful! We had an unfortunate incident with another guest in the restarant using very loud inappropriate language around our young kids and the staff diffused the situation and handled the issue in a very professional manner! We were all VERY impressed. I highly recommend you check out this delightful hidden gem!

Stopped in for a few drinks during our little escape to Canmore. We were very impressed by the selection of cocktails and how amazingly delicious they were!!!! The customer service was amazing, the lady working stopped to make sure everything was still okay on her way out the door when her shift was over. We will be back for sure!

Really good scrumptious deliciousness. I was tempted to order another entree because the 2 entrees (lamb stew and bfc sandwich) we ordered was delicious. Loved the tater tots. Really nice cozy atmosphere.

Love everything about this place. Beer was terrific, choose your own record to listen to and had seconds of the kalamari. We will be back everytime we are in Canmore. Wish we were local. Terrific hospitality.

Fabulous service ...atmosphere...food and drinks. We had the deviled eggs...anchovies were a great touch. Calamari topped with salmon roe...great touch as well... best we have ever seen.... My BF had the pork slider with tator tots yummy yummy!!! Needless to say we had leftovers to take home for a nighttime snack. Lastly the Pisco sour was amazing...maybe I had 2!

Bourdain, Pierre-White, Ramsey, Krauss...ok, maybe not Krauss, as he's a theoretical physicist....but the first three, anyway; none can produce better food than Chef Kris. They're very good, undoubtedly...but so is Kris.



The owners and staff are dedicated and fun-loving...avoiding the pretensions one finds, so often, where food and drinks of this standard are produced.



The atmosphere is easy going....helped, no doubt, by superb music and an absence of televisions (a rare thing, indeed.)

Always love coming in for a drink and a bite to eat. Sam is awesome, Andrea is the loveliest and the small bites I had were spot on (crab croquets and kale salad). Number one place in town in my books 👍 also the music and lighting are always perfect.

No wait for a table on the patio, unlike neighbouring restaurants that had a ridiculously long wait even with open tables. And very welcoming of our dogs. But they were out of stock of a lot of different beers, like half of the ones on the menu.

My husband and I stopped by today for a late lunch. The service was great and the food was incredible! We started with deep fried cheese, my husband had the chilli and I had the falafel wrap, then we shared a creme brulee for dessert. My only complaint is that the creme brulee had not set properly and was mostly liquid (which is why I gave 4 stars), but I would come back over and over for the wrap. Great little place, can't say enough good about it!

Had the brisket on biscuits. It was very good, and very well priced. The brisket while not outstanding was good quality and had good, hearty flavour. The biscuits were great, fluffy, and little salty and just a tiny bit doughy in a good way. There was an aioli drizzle that was nice and a half grape-tomoto and small sweet pickle slice. I'd have preferred an heirloom tomato, but we are talking a very very good dish for the price-point. The room is attractive, comfy, well-designed by someone with a good eye and high standards. It will look even better as it ages. Good service, pleasant staff. Will be back!
