We've used the services of While Away for a while now, and I couldn't recommend them more. Sherri always takes great care of Molly and I hate bothering friends and family to come look after her! Definitely worth the cost and the peace of mind. I love getting daily messages when we're away, and I know that the team there takes care of Molly as well as (if not better than) we would! :)

We've been using While Away for years and have never had a bad experience! All of our caregivers have been lovely (Shelby, Jane, Tia and others) and our cats have bonded with them. They give lots of cuddles and love to our furry family members, always send photos and texts to keep me up to date and leave my house cleaner than I left it! Fantastic service and great to deal with.

We've been using While Away for a number of years and have always been very happy. Our two dogs love the caretakers (Shelby, Bryan, & Melanie)! They get lots of love, attention, walks and cuddles. Our eldest dog requires extra care with medications, time alone, and length of walks and the caretakers are very diligent following our instructions. Our home is always well cared for, including our plants and garden when we ask.

We started working with While Away last year and have had nothing but great experiences! All of our caregivers (Nahla, Tia and Bryan) have been outstanding. We travel often and have six animals so it is great to know our pets are in very capable hands as all of the caretakers go above and beyond to make us feel at ease while we are traveling.



While Away also has a great operations team who are easy to work with, very friendly and responsive (24/7)! I would definitely recommend While Away to anyone in need of a pet sitter. It is a great alternative to sending your fur baby to a kennel.

We have used While Away when we are away. It allows us to keep our pets at home on their regular diet in their regular surroundings. That is important to us. In this occasion we had Jackie care for our pets and home. She was very attentive. She sent us daily updates and pictures. We arrived home to happy pets and our house in great order.



I would recommend this service and ask for Jackie You won’t be disappointed nor will your pets.

We have the best pet sitter!!! Cheryl Turner! She totally relates to our English Bulldogs and they just love her!

We have been While Away clients since 2014 and have left our most precious family member and our home in the capable hands of a live-in While Away caregiver many times since then.



While Away Caregivers are experienced, responsible, and professional. Every caregiver makes an introductory visit to go over our home and make friends with our little cat. They learn and maintain all of our household routines - from cat feeding to plant watering - and familiarize themselves with everything from veterinary records and contact information to bin collection schedules to the location of water cutoff valves, keeping both our little cat and our home clean and safe. I can always feel confident that our cat will receive the care he deserves and the cuddles and play he craves and that our home will be secure and well maintained while we're away.



Our regular caregiver is Mary, who knows us and our little friend almost better than we do. Mary and our cat have become happy cronies and I look forward to the photos that Mary texts to me every day. I can't praise Mary enough, as she has patiently and cheerfully seen us through many last minute emergencies and even a September blizzard and power outage that crippled the city while we were out of town. She just took it all in stride. Mary is our rock.



Most recently, Jeanette looked after our home and spoiled our little friend while we were on vacation. Throughout the week, she stayed in touch with me and I looked forward to hearing from her. I love that she created special morning routines with him that kept him happy and engaged so that he wouldn't spend time missing us or his regular routines. There's nothing better than coming home to a happy cat. The fresh flowers were a delightful surprise.



I love the level of care and attention the While Away caregivers bring to their calling and I love that they communicate regularly with updates and follow up calls even after they've gone home.



I'd also add that While Away's administration is just as attentive and responsive.



I am not exaggerating when I say that I always feel good about dealing with the management and caregivers at While Away. I always feel confident that I can count on them at any time and they will not let me down.

We are so lucky to have been able to use the services of Mary from While Away three times now. We cannot say enough good things about her! She is simply amazing. We have a dog and two cats. Our dog was walked three to four times a day (he was in heaven) and the cats warmed up to Mary quickly (not an easy feat!!) and we came home to a happy and calm house! Mary even handed out Halloween candy for us! She always goes above and beyond. Mary is hands down the very best and we feel lucky to be able to use her services!

Nahla takes care of my 2 beloved cats 5-10 days a month when I am away for work. The house is always neat and clean when I come home and my kitties are well taken care of. She even texts me photos of them each day. They are shy but have really warmed up to her which makes me feel better about being away. Thanks Nahla and While Away!

Melanie was superb! She watched our four dogs for almost a week. Her communication was amazing and I can’t thank her enough for her photos and text messages. My home was clean when I got home and most importantly my dogs were very happy!

I would highly recommend While Away to anyone requiring exceptional care for their animals! We have used their services for both live-in caregiving and cat visits and have been exceptionally pleased every time. From the booking process to completion, While Away has delivered superior service to us and more especially our furry friends! We were lucky to have Karen V. help us with cat visits this summer and she was so amazing with our cats - she got to know them and their quirks so quickly and figured out exactly what they needed to feel happy and secure. She was excellent at communicating with us and we felt very confident and secure that our cats were in the best care while we were away.

I used While Away for my wedding day and from my very first phone call to them they have gone above and beyond to accommodate. Nicole, the manager, saved my butt when my initial pet sitter fell through and I’m so glad I ended up booking with While Away instead.

Melanie was an absolute dream and she really took the time to get to know the grump (my dog) and the young pup (my moms dog) and their relationship prior to babysitting.

The obsessed dog-mom in me texted her multiple times throughout my wedding day and Melanie would instantly reply with pictures of what they’re doing and how they’ve been.

Even though I wasn’t able to have the pups as part of my day, seeing pictures and getting progress reports put me at ease that they were in good hands and having fun.

I’m so relieved that I’ve found a company that would treat my kids like their own.

I have a senior dog, and am very particular with who I leave my pet with (I'm sure many owners say that - but my husband would agree I'm at the extreme end of the spectrum). When I contacted Mandy, I heard back right away and immediately they arranged a visit to get familiar with my dog, the household, and his routines. Nicole took care of Digger like he was part of her furry family and sent me regular updates and photos. I felt so comfortable and reassured that my dog was well cared for and in very loving and capable hands. I've recommended this service to friends and family members, who I know want the same peace of mind when they go away. The service and people with this company are all 5-star people. I'm so appreciative and value they do what they enjoy, it's so evident. Fabulous! Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with While Away pet care, and I'll definitely have them watch my cat the next time I'm gone! While away was quick to respond to my request for their help. I had an initial meeting with Robbin, the lady who would be watching my cat. We went over the typical daily routine for my cat and they even offered additional services to make it look like someone was home while I was away. The best part of the experience was getting the daily photo update to show how my cat was doing! My mind was at ease knowing I had a great person looking after my cat, and my social cat was happy to have company too. You need to try out While Away pet care, you won't regret it!

I am a widow with 3 dogs and 2 cats, not including the barn kitties and have travelled outside the country and used Cheryl Turner as my care giver for my beloved animals. My pets now consider her as their second “Mom” and I know while away I have absolutely nothing to worry about knowing my home and pets are in good hands. There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am that we’ve had the good fortune to have met Cheryl!!

Cheryl Turner has been a great asset to my husband and I! We travel for work and rely on her professionalism and love of our pets. We are often gone for a week at a time; our house is found cleaner than when we left and our pets happy and healthy. She has been able to handle medication administration for our old dog( not an easy task) as well as our rambunctious pup and cats. We feel blessed to have a trustworthy individual caring for our home and fur babies! Thank you Cheryl !!

Nahla stayed overnight with my 2 Beagle’s for 2 nights. She was excellent. I was pretty specific about the behaviours of the dogs and she followed my instructions and had a great weekend with the girls. She kept me updated by text with stories And pictures, left the house clean and sheets washed and even left me a nice salad she had made. My neighbor said she really enjoyed Nahla too as they visited in the yard. The dogs were happy when I got home and I would definitely recommend this service for any overnight stays.
