Grayson and Olive were helping us work while we stayed open for Spruce Grove’s Public Market today!!
At the end of the 5 hour shift, Grayson “didn’t want to” stuff jerky bags anymore so Trevor put him on washing bins...
Not once, not twice, but THREE times his stack of bins fell over and CRASHED to the floor and he had to start again. On the third time the crash was so loud it nearly gave our customers up front all heart attacks...and I look up on the security screen in ou...r office and see Olive absolutely dying from laughter because he has to start the washing all over again lol!!
She was laughing so hard she had to lean up against the counter lol

September loooooong weekend!!!!

Spruce Grove's Public Market is on today!!
It's growing bigger and bigger each time and now it's stretched down McLeod Avenue (from King Street) all the way to the front of our shop...WE ARE OPEN TODAY 11:00 - 4:00!!

Bees!!!!
We took the kids out to visit Good Morning Honey and it was so cool to learn about bees!!
We have had Good Morning Honey in our store front since the first day we opened and I swear...we have people come in just to buy this honey and not the jerky lol
... On our way out to this family farm located just southwest of Stony Plain...we had a discussion with the kids and told them that under no circumstances were they to swat at the bees, hit the bees, squish them, or harm them in any way 😋
Once we were at their farm, we rode out farther on a horse pulled carriage, put on our new suits, and were swarmed by buzzzing....gah!! We were even allowed to dip a finger directly into the honeycomb to taste the best honey ever!!
Here are a few really cool things that we learned while we were all dressed up and covered in bees:
~ Each hive (4-5 crates high) has 1 Queen Bee and 50,000-60,000 worker bees!! Each hive will produce 200lbs of honey per on a good year.
~The Queen Bees are flown in from New Zealand, Hawaii, California, Chili!! How crazy it that!! They are taken from their hive and flown here...the whole process needs to happen within four days.
~A Worker Bee has a 6 week life span and will die if he stings someone.
~Alberta is the 5th largest honey producer in the world and we are so lucky to have Good Morning Honey, and their 3,200 hives, right in Parkland County ❤️

The Town Butcher is full of great meat cuts, has a huge variety of shelf items, it’s a gorgeous shop...with an owner that is super passionate about his business ❤️

It’s summer vacation adventure time!!
We are taking the kids on a huge road trip...and while most people would pull over to see a beautiful waterfall, or a mountain pass, or an amusement park...we have pulled over in Portland, Oregon, USA....to see where our Wilhauk Beef Jerky smoker was made!!!
Enviro-Pak gave us our own personal tour through their facility!! They were a bit surprised to see an entire family from Canada show up in their industrial park with a truck and ho...liday trailer lol
It was a last minute detour and Trevor was in heaven...and Olive was bored out of her mind haha!
The smoker in this picture is 8 times the size of ours, is worth approximately $340,000.00 USD, and it takes around 8 months to make.
Enviro-Pak builds smokers for everyone and this is their only facility...some of their customers include Jack Links, Tillamook County Creamery (to smoke cheese), and us!!
We will never forget the day our brand new smoker showed up at our shop...and then that moment we discovered the door wasn’t big enough to let it in👌🏻

Wonderful beef jerky, but the community spirit and generosity of the family is what gets 5 stars from me.

What an amazing business for Spruce Grove. The jerky is insanely delicious, and the hot pepperoni has actual bite to it! I got a chance to try the smoked pulled pork and it was incredible. I love how involved in the community these business owners are. It's a double whammy for me since I want to support them because I respect them as a business, but also because their product is top notch.

We picked up a pound of the bbq to go slow smoked pulled pork yesterday and made it tonight. It was AMAZING. Perfect amount for our family (2 adults and 2 toddlers). It melted apart when we went to shred it. I’ve never had pulled pork come apart like that.



I’d write more but I’m going back for seconds!

We just heard about this location opening and had to go since it's now closer to home than the Leduc one and I was NOT disappointed! The store is fantastic! The owner was a pleasure to talk to and the meat is outstanding!! The beef jerking is second to none, the pepperoni is the best and the ham sausage was fantastic. We bought burgers to but haven't tried those yet. I'm sure they'll be just as great. 5 stars for everything!!!

Trevor and Amanda, we sure admire your business sense, passion and philanthropy. Your product is second to none. Congratulations on your first year and knocking it out of the park giving back to the community!

A few months ago my husband bought ribs through a fundraiser event. They were the most amazing ribs ever! We then found out they were from Wilhauk Beef Jerky in Spruce Grove. Last Friday my husband stopped in the shop and bought eight more packages as we were entertaining guests the next night. Needless to say, we ate five of the eight packages and they were outstanding! We will definitely be back in the store to try out more amazing products! Thank you for making my dinner a success!!!
