Global News Woman of Vision celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of Edmonton area women whose personal dedication and actions inspire us all.

The Woman of Vision program launched on ITV News in 1995. Produced and hosted by founder Lesley MacDonald, the 3-time national award winning series celebrates women from Edmonton and area who demonstrate the power of a vision greater than themselves. Their commitment and leadership strengthen our communities and inspires us to achieve the possibilities of our own vision.

The Series:
Global News Woman of Vision stories are featured on the News Hour on Global Edmonton. The inspiring stories are also told through an Avenue Edmonton blog, and compiled into a special broadcast that airs on Global Edmonton each May.

The Celebration:
It’s the pinnacle of the Woman of Vision program – the consistently sold-out awards event pays tribute to the inspirational women featured over the last year. This emotional, spirit-lifting celebration is enhanced by words of wisdom from our honourees. Generous sponsors provide financial awards and bursaries to female university students and sponsored tickets are provided to 50 young women to inspire a new generation of visionaries.
